Jasmine Camacho-Quinn

A talented track and field athlete who made history at Tokyo 2020.

U.S. born athlete Jasmine Camacho-Quinn wrote history for Puerto Rico by winning its first gold medal in track and second gold medal ever in its history. The native from South Carolina, was raised in the United States, but instead, she decided to run for Puerto Rico as of respect to her mother’s homeland.

Her impressive performance at Tokio 2020 is not a surprise since she is a talented track and field athlete. Camacho-Quinn comes from a family of athletes. Her parents were both track runners at Charleston Southern University. In addition, her brother plays football on the Chicago Bears.

At 24, Camacho-Quinn is at the top of her game. After her historical win, the Puerto Rican artist, Dady Yankee, congratulated her on social media, “ Congrats on that gold medal. Thank you for putting our island up high. Worthy representation!.” The athlete was thrilled with this acknowledgment and she replied, “Daddy Yankee posted me Pleading face Do yall understand how that feels? Like wtffffff a legend.”
