Natalie Portman is pregnant! Two years after a painful divorce from Benjamin Millepied, the actress is welcoming her third child, sharing the happy news with the world.
Portman, who shares Aleph, 14, and Amalia, 9, with Millipied, is expecting her first child with the musician and producer Tanguy Destable, who goes by the stage name Tepr.
A year ago, the two confirmed their relationship after being photographed on a walk, showing a natural closeness. The news came after a year of her divorce from Millepied, with whom Portman was married for 11 years.
While she and Destable have yet to attend red carpet events together, the couple shared the news of their pregnancy in an exclusive with Harper's Bazaar.
“Tanguy and I are very excited,” she said. “I’m just very grateful. I know it’s such a privilege and a miracle.” She was also photographed showcasing her belly.
Portman and Destable's child is joining a large family, with him having two kids of his own, Etienne and Vadim, whom he shares with the actress Louise Bourgoin.
Details about Portman's family life
While Destable, 45, prefers to lead a private life, he's an established figure in the music industry, releasing three solo albums in the techno and dance genres. He's also collaborated with some of the world's leading DJs, including David Guetta.
Portman and Destable are expected to welcome their child in France, where they live. Portman has been living in Paris since 2014, preferring the private approach to life that the city is known for. “They’re very good at privacy here,” she said in an interview with Net-a-Porter. “I feel like the biggest compliment is ‘elle est très discrète’ [‘she is very discreet’].”
Portman also praises Paris' distinct cultural vibe. “There’s always some incredible exhibit or concert or dinner party or writers in town — something fascinating and stimulating happening. And the frequent vacations are so clutch!”
In a chat with Jenna Ortega with Interview Magazine, Portman revealed that she valued privacy due to her children and the nature of her work. "I’m not a particularly private person in real life—I’ll tell you anything—but in public, it was so clear early on that if you tell people how private you are, your privacy gets respected a lot more," she said. "I set up a little bit of a barrier to be like, 'I’m not going to do photo shoots with my kids.'”
