Natalie Portman is opening up about welcoming her third child. Earlier this week, the famously private star shared a rare comment about her family.
Portman was featured on the cover of Harper's Bazaar and said that she felt “full of wonder and joy at this magical little human.”
Her new baby has also helped her pay attention to her older children, Amelia, 9, and Aleph, 14, whom she shares with her ex-husband Benjamin Millepied.
“It gives me a whole new attention to my big kids too, as I am reminded of how recently they were these little fresh creations and how quickly they’ve blossomed into incredible humans with their own amazing personalities and senses of humor and ideas,” Portman said.
Portman shares her new baby with Tanguy Destable. The pair prefer to keep their relationship private and live in Paris, where they've been photographed holding hands and carrying their baby.
She shared the news of her baby in September of last year. “Tanguy and I are very excited,” Portman told Harper's Bazaar in a separate instance.
“I’m just very grateful. I know it’s such a privilege and a miracle.”
She also shared that, this time around, she felt calmer when pregnant. “There is a gratitude that when you’re young, you don’t necessarily grasp,” she said. “And there’s a calm and knowing myself: who I want to spend time with, what kind of energy I want around me that makes the experience so beautiful every day. And knowing it’s probably the last time, I cherish every moment.”
Portman's recent divorce
Portman and Millipied finalized their divorce in 2024. The pair had been married for 11 years and divorced after rumors of Millipied having an affair.
"It was initially really tough for her, but her friends rallied around her and helped get her through the worst of it," said a friend of the couple to PEOPLE.
"Natalie is coming out of a really tough and painful year but she's come out the other side of it stronger and is finding joy in her family, friends and work."
Portman has never shared much about her divorce from Millipied. When asked about the chatter surrounding the split, Portman told Vanity Fair: "It's terrible, and I have no desire to contribute to it."
