Dakota Johnson may be best known for her work in front of the camera, but Machine Gun Kelly reportedly sees a different kind of star in the actress, and he is encouraging her to explore her musical side.

The Fifty Shades of Grey star has been photographed leaving the recording studio with Kelly multiple times as their relationship continues to develop. Turns out she could be getting on the mic herself.

According to the Daily Mail, the musician is impressed by Johnson's voice and believes she could pursue a professional singing career if she wanted to. Johnson once showed off her vocals in the 2020 film The High Note.

“She has a lot to offer. She sings herself, and Colson loves it; he is infatuated. He thinks she could be a professional singer if she wanted to be, but she doesn't want to be,” a source told the outlet, referring to Kelly by his real name, Colson Baker.

The insider added that Johnson has also told friends she is inspiring Kelly's music, suggesting their connection extends beyond their reported romance and into their creative lives.

“She has said she is inspiring his music. She prides herself on being a muse for musicians; she is totally like that Penny Lane character from Almost Famous; she has a hippie vibe and also knows music very well,” the source said.

It's not the first time she has inspired a musician. Johnson herself addressed it in her interview with Vogue, saying, “They like me. I don’t know what to say… And I like them," she said.

She was famously in and out of a relationship with Coldplay's Chris Martin. She frequently supported the Coldplay singer at concerts, and the couple was occasionally spotted together on tour.

In June 2023 Martin serenaded Johnson during a Coldplay performance in Naples, Italy, as she watched from the crowd and she blew a kiss at him.

While they were very private, when she split, she started dating Role Model, whose real name is Tucker Pillsbury. It wasn't very long, but she still made her way onto one of his songs.

While discussing his album Chuck Timely & the Hourglass, the musician explained how Johnson unexpectedly ended up contributing to his song “Love I You.”

"I had a lot of names to pick from that," he told Nylon. But when Johnson stopped by the studio while he was working on the track, producer Mason Stoops suggested that she record a part.

Pillsbury initially pushed back on the idea. “I was like, ‘Stop! We’re not mixing work and relationships,’” he told the outlet.

Johnson ultimately agreed to record the part, and Pillsbury said she “stood right up and got in the booth and knocked it out better than we could have imagined.” “So I was like, OK, if she’s down — I mean, that’s an amazing cameo,” he added.

Could Dakota Johnson be ready to settle down?

In the same interview with Vogue, Dakota revealed she wants to one day have children. “I really do,” she said when asked if she wants to have a family.

“I’ve always felt, especially the last few years, that there is a soul that wants to come through. And I hope that I’m lucky enough to be able to do that," she said.

While it's still early in her relationship with MGK, DailyMail's source claimed her friends wouldn't be surprised if it happened one day. “It's way too early for her to talk kids with Colson, but friends say they would not be surprised if Dakota was like, ‘Oops, I got pregnant.’ She is spontaneous,” the insider said.

And while the internet still hasn't completely grasped the relationship, the source said they are "very similar." "They are light-hearted and love to have fun," they said.

“They love to laugh and be silly because he is super funny, and she thrives on humor as she is a very quirky and funny person herself,” the source added.

Time will tell if we will one day get an MGK and Johnson song in the future, a baby,  or both.
