Nicole Kidman brought a special date to this year's Met Gala. She and her daughter, Sunday Rose, walked the red carpet together, looking stunning in complementary gowns.
Nicole and Sunday Rose, 17, made an entrance on the red carpet, wearing stunning gowns that were a perfect illustration of spring. Nicole opted for a red Chanel sequined gown with a drop waist and her blonde hair styled long and straight.
Sunday Rose wore a pink Dior floral gown, accessorizing the look with matching earrings. She styled her hair just like her mother, with both acting as mirrors to each other.
Nicole is one of this year's co-chairs and appears to have bent the Met Gala rules in her favor. The event has historically demanded that guests be over the age of 18 to walk the red carpet.
Despite her young age, Sunday Rose has plenty of experience with fashion and high-pressure events, working as a model for numerous notorious brands and campaigns. She made her catwalk debut for the Miu Miu show hosted in October of 2024, appearing in different events and campaigns since.
She's learned a lot from her mother. “I definitely gained a lot of interest from those experiences and especially being privileged enough to experience them at a young age,” said Sunday Rose in an interview with Elle Australia. “My mum is someone who has always been so creative and my biggest inspiration in life. She’s a key part of everything I do.”
The rule Sunday Rose had to follow despite her Met Gala debut
Nicole is one of this year's most important Met Gala guests, serving as co-chair alongside Beyoncé, Venus Williams, and Anna Wintour.
In an interview with Vogue, Nicole discussed her daughter's Met Gala debut and her relaxed attitude toward the whole ordeal. "She's been so calm through the whole thing."
Despite the glamour of attending the first Met Gala of her life, Sunday Rose is still a teenager and has to follow the rules of her peers. "She had to go to school tomorrow morning, by 8 a.m. Keeping it real," said Nicole.
