Elsa Pataky shares surprising truth about her and Chris Hemsworth’s daughter

Elsa Pataky is about family life in Byron Bay with her husband, Chris Hemsworth, and their three kids: India Rose, Tristan, and Sasha. She regularly shares glimpses of their adventures, from horseback riding to surfing, showing just how much they've grown.

But as her eldest daughter, India Rose, steps into her teenage years, she's making her own decisions.

Who Is India Rose Hemsworth?

At 12 years old, India Rose is already carving out her path. While her twin brothers, Tristan and Sasha, are all about jiu-jitsu, surfing, and getting their hands dirty with pottery, India's passion is horses. She takes after her mom in that department, spending hours riding and caring for them.

In 2024, the proud mom shared a video of India at a horseback riding competition. Pataky also shared a sweet message in the post's caption. "We had such an amazing time at the Interschool Queensland State Championship, sharing beautiful moments with all the amazing people who came to the event," she wrote. "Well done Indi you were really nervous but you did so well. And congrats to all the winners and competitors, and cheers to all the parents, we all do everything to support our kids and try to make them happy."

Elsa and India also competed as a duo at the 2023 Tamborine Pony Club in Queensland.

But one thing Elsa has been open about is that India is not into traditionally "girly" things. Fashion, makeup, dressing up for events? Not her vibe. Her mom has even mentioned that India has shown up to fancy family events in a tracksuit, totally unbothered by the red-carpet glam. Growing up alongside two brothers, she's developed a strong, independent personality that Elsa says reminds her of her own childhood.

India's Decision to Stay Out of the Spotlight

While Chris and Elsa often bring their twins along to movie premieres and public events, you might have noticed India Rose is usually missing from those pictures. And no, it's not just because she's a moody pre-teen.

According to Elsa, India made this choice herself. In a recent interview with La Vanguardia, Pataky shared that her daughter simply isn't interested in fame. "She likes discretion," Elsa explained. "She decided on her own that she doesn't want to appear in public, attract attention, or have people talk about her."

That's rare for a kid who was born into Hollywood royalty. While plenty of celebrity kids end up loving the limelight, India is taking the complete opposite approach. She's happy living a more private life, popping up occasionally in her mom's Instagram posts (usually making a goofy face) but steering clear of cameras at major events.

A Different Path from Her Parents?

With a dad like Chris Hemsworth and a mom like Elsa Pataky, you might think India would be next in line for a big-screen debut, but so far, she's showing zero interest in the Hollywood scene. And if she does decide to go that route one day, it'll be on her terms.

For now, she's just a regular (as regular as you can be with Thor as your dad) tween who loves horses, keeps her distance from the paparazzi, and isn't afraid to be herself.
