Queen Rania of Jordan has traded red for black for the latest stop on her international trip, once again making fashion an essential part of her public presence.
The Queen is accompanying King Abdullah II in New York during the high-level week of the 81st United Nations General Assembly, following visits to France and the Czech Republic, where she recently delivered one of her most striking looks, a red dress that inevitably called to mind the signature shade often seen in Queen Letizia’s wardrobe.

Only her shoes, in a sophisticated dark green, break up the monochrome palette.

Rania carried Alaïa’s Le Teckel Medium, one of the fashion house’s most recognizable bags thanks to its elongated, almost tubular silhouette.
Crafted from black goatskin with a subtly glossy grained finish, the design features long handles and a narrow 33-centimeter body. Alaïa itself describes Le Teckel as one of its signature designs.

The Queen completed her ensemble with Malone Souliers’ Jennifer 90 heels, pointed-toe mules crafted from dark green patent-effect leather. The design features a T-shaped opening across the foot and a 90-millimeter stiletto heel, dramatically changing the proportions of the relaxed Bermuda shorts.
