The photos were shared earlier today in an Instagram post featuring two photos. The first image shows Meghan and Harry holding on to Lilibet, whose face is turned away from the camera, while her parents hold on and smile at her. Lili is seen wearing a light green dress, with Meghan wearing an all-green look made up of a dark green long-sleeve shirt, slacks, and a brown belt.

Harry wore a darker outfit, made up of dark jeans and a dark blue button-up shirt.

The second photo is centered on Lilibet, showing her observing and reaching out for a flower in a garden, with her strawberry blonde hair shielding part of her face. "Our dream girl. Happy 5th birthday, Lili," Meghan captioned the post.

Meghan Markle's journey to motherhood

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry welcomed Lilibet in 2021, two years after they had their first son, Archie, who was born in 2019. Lili was named after two special people in Harry's life: his grandmother, Queen Elizabeth, and his mother, Princess Diana. Lilibet used to be the Queen's nickname when she was a little girl. Diana is Lilibet's second name.

Over the years, Meghan and Harry have shielded their kids' faces from the public eye, showing glimpses of them while protecting their privacy as best as possible. Still, as the kids have grown up, we've learned more about them, with both parents sharing some of their traditions, including their most recent Easter celebrations

Last year, Meghan opened up about her journey with motherhood and how she's always wanted to have children. “I will say, for myself, especially when they are baby babies and before I was a mom, I’ve always wanted to be a mom," she said in the podcast "Confessions of a Female Founder." Still, she made it clear that the journey wasn't what she expected and was challenging.

She revealed that she wanted to be a working mother. "I was like, ‘Oh gosh, I’m going to give a speech with a baby on my hip,’” she said. “I had a whole vision. You fast forward—granted, I had a lot of external things happening by the time I had both pregnancies and both babies. It was not the way I envisioned."
