Cressida Bonas is addressing one of the most difficult chapters of her life. The ex-girlfriend of Prince Harry has opened up about her sister's death. Pandora Cooper-Key in July 2024, after a 24-year battle with cancer, Li-Fraumeni syndrome, and other complications that stemmed from the disease. She was 51 years old.
In an interview with The Times, Bonas addressed the death of her sister and shared how much she had learned from her.
"Despite being unwell for years, she found joy in the smallest things and was always grateful," she said. "Even at her sickest she'd dance by her hospital window. Pandora believed in going after what you want rather than waiting for it to fall into your lap. She used to say, 'What's the worst that can happen?' Her sense of humour was infectious, and she could talk to anyone. Even now I sometimes hear her in my ear pushing me on, reminding me to just get out there and live life fully. I'd like to pass that on to my children."
Last year, Bonas gave birth to her daughter, Delphina Pandora, with her second name selected as a tribute to her late sister. She also shares a son named Wilbur with her husband, Harry Wentworth-Stanley.
Over the years, Bonas has opened up about motherhood. Last year, she launched "Lessons From Our Mothers," a podcast, where she opened up about the "frightening" experience of being a mother and raising children.
"My husband and I struggled to conceive, and our son is a product of IVF," she wrote in The Telegraph. "Even though I remind myself how fortunate we are to have been able to have children, being a mum is the most challenging thing I've ever done. It is unpredictable, frightening and it tests me every day."
