Meghan Markle is heading back to the kitchen, but this time, she's trading her Netflix lifestyle series for a popular Australian cooking competition.
The Duchess of Sussex, 45, has confirmed she will appear on Junior MasterChef Australia in 2027, joining Australian television personality and celebrity chef Poh Ling Yeow as the beloved cooking competition returns to Network 10.
The announcement, made on October 27, 2026, marks another television opportunity for Meghan, who previously appeared as a guest judge on MasterChef Australia earlier this year.
While some initial reports described Meghan as a co-host, producers have clarified her involvement as a special guest working alongside Yeow to mentor young contestants.
Meghan Markle Shares Why She Said Yes to Junior MasterChef Australia
Meghan's enthusiasm for her new television project was evident in a statement released following the announcement. The Duchess explained that her positive experience with the MasterChef Australia team earlier this year made returning an easy decision.
"I had an incredible time with the whole team at MasterChef this past April, so when they approached me to come back and work with this young group of talent, it was an easy yes," Meghan said.
She also revealed that cooking with her two children, Prince Archie, 7, and Princess Lilibet, 5, played a part in her excitement. "I love cooking with my own kids, so seeing what these young stars create in the kitchen is going to be a lot of fun. I can't wait to see what they cook up!"
Poh Ling Yeow Reacts to Working With Meghan Markle Again
Meghan won't be stepping into unfamiliar territory when filming begins. She will reunite with Poh Ling Yeow, the Australian cook, artist and television personality who has become one of the most recognizable faces of the MasterChef Australia franchise.
Yeow expressed excitement about both the show's comeback and the opportunity to work with Meghan again. "I'm thrilled to bits that Junior MasterChef is returning to our screens," Yeow said in a statement. "People often ask me whether it might come back, so I know the news will be met with plenty of excitement."
Reflecting on her previous experience with the Duchess, Yeow added: "I had a lovely time filming with Meghan earlier this year, and being reunited will be a real treat." Yeow also said she was looking forward to meeting the show's young contestants, anticipating plenty of creativity and unexpected moments in the kitchen.
Meghan Markle's Previous MasterChef Australia Appearance Was a Ratings Success
Meghan's return follows what Network 10 describes as a successful guest appearance on the main cooking competition.
Her episode, broadcast in July 2026 after being filmed during her April visit to Australia with Prince Harry, attracted the show's largest Sunday audience since 2023, according to the network.
During the episode, Meghan challenged contestants to prepare dishes inspired by seasonal ingredients and meaningful personal memories. The challenge featured ingredients including Australian honey, macadamia nuts, strawberries, lemons and apples.
Speaking about her initial invitation to the program, Meghan explained that her affection for food and Australia motivated her participation. She also encouraged contestants to think about the memories and family connections behind their dishes.
Is Meghan Markle Moving to Australia With Prince Harry and Their Children?
Meghan's new television commitment has also raised questions about whether the Sussex family will spend an extended period in Australia.
According to PEOPLE, Meghan is expected to spend several weeks in the country filming Junior MasterChef Australia in 2027. However, the publication reports that Meghan and Prince Harry are not planning to relocate their family to Australia.
Filming is expected to take place in Melbourne, where the MasterChef Australia production is based. It remains unclear whether Prince Harry, Archie or Lilibet will accompany Meghan during her television commitment.
The family previously visited Australia together in April 2026, when Meghan and Harry attended engagements in Sydney and Melbourne.
What Happened to Meghan Markle's Netflix Show ‘With Love, Meghan’?
Meghan's latest Australian television role comes after her Netflix lifestyle series, ‘With Love, Meghan,’ ran for two seasons.
The show featured cooking, entertaining, gardening and conversations with guests, offering viewers an inside look at Meghan's approach to everyday hospitality.
Despite attracting considerable attention, reports indicate the series will not return for a third season. Her appearance on Junior MasterChef Australia represents a different television opportunity.
Instead of leading a lifestyle series built around her own recipes and hosting ideas, Meghan will participate in a competition focused on the creativity and skills of young Australian cooks.
The new project also continues a longer connection with children's cooking programs. In 2016, before her marriage to Prince Harry, Meghan appeared as a guest judge on Food Network's Chopped Junior.
