Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are reportedly facing challenges from all directions. The couple, who recently sparked headlines claiming there was some distance with Netflix's bosses, is now facing new claims, with reports suggesting they are isolated from their neighbors.

Page Six reports that their neighbors in Montecito, California, are "avoiding" Meghan and Harry. “No one wants to be seen with them," said a source from the area.

“It’s not hate,” they continued. “It’s just a growing awareness that they’re takers with zero self-awareness. Everyone’s exhausted by them.” The source claims that this isn't a new development, and that the distance between the Sussexes and their neighbors has been developing for years.

The outlet reports that sources close to the Sussexes claim the opposite. “They have a great relationship with their neighbors and love their community.”

Meghan and Harry have been living in Montecito since 2020, when they purchased their $14.65 million mansion following their much-discussed move to California and their decision to leave the Royal Family behind. “They have settled into the quiet privacy of their community since their arrival and hope that this will be respected for their neighbors, as well as them for a family,” said a spokesperson at the time in a statement to Vogue.

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's relationship with Netflix has been much discussed in past months, with the two having a deal with Netflix to produce different types of content. Earlier this year, Netflix pulled out as an investor from Markle's brand, As Ever, sparking much conversation. Markle's show, "With Love, Meghan" was also not renewed for a second season.

Still, Netflix has made it clear that they still have a relationship with the Sussexes. "We have movies in development with them. We have an amazing doc with them. They have things in development on the TV and film side. Deals come and go all the time, and we don’t renew so many deals, those just don’t get as much press for obvious reasons. There’s no juicy story there," said Bela Bajaria, Netflix's Chief Content Officer.

Meghan and Harry are developing numerous Netflix projects with their company Archewell, including the movie "The Wedding Date" and a scripted TV show based on "Polo," a documentary that the two previously produced.
