There’s a lot of stuff to stream nowadays. In hopes of helping you watch more good movies and TV, we compile some of the most exciting titles streaming across all platforms in our weekly column, What To Watch.

The Gilded Age (HBO)

“The Gilded Age” is back for a fourth season, introducing some high stakes for our beloved New York elites and their gorgeous mansions and gowns. Bertha Russell (Carrie Coon) has gotten almost everything she wanted, but her marriage to George (Morgan Spector) has taken a toll. It premieres on Sunday, with new episodes dropping every week.

Nocturne (Apple TV+)

Apple TV+ has a new crime thriller with a stunning cast. “Nocturne” stars Liev Schreiber as an investigator chasing a serial killer played by Stephen Graham. He comes out of retirement when a missing person reappears, sending his protege (Zazie Beetz) to talk wth the serial killer in hopes of tracking down other possible victims. It's a riff on The Silence of the Lambs, which sounds like exciting stuff for any fan of the genre.

Dexter: Resurrection (Paramount+)

Dexter Morgan is also back, right on time for Halloween. In the second season of “Dexter: Resurrection,” Michael C. Hall returns to play one of the most emblematic characters of his career, finding Dexter trapped between two murderers. He's also dealing with a midlife crisis and trying to reconnect with his estranged son.

The New York City Marathon

The New York City Marathon is this weekend

One of the most exciting things to watch this weekend is not a movie or a show. It's the New York City Marathon, which takes place this Sunday, in its 50th anniversary. If you’re not cheering from the sidelines, ESPN2 and ESPN Unlimited carry the race nationwide starting at 8 a.m. You can read more about the marathon here.

Insidious (Tubi)

If you’re planning a scary movie marathon this weekend to celebrate Halloween, “Insidious” is a great place to start. There are many movies of varying degrees of quality, so you can just sit down, pop one in, and get some fun jump scares. The original, starring Patrick Wilson and Rose Byrne, is still the best of the bunch and is free to stream on Tubi.

Carrie (Prime Video)

Since it's Halloween weekend, I also thought it'd be cool to recommend some of the horror TV shows that have come out this year. Two of the biggest are reinterpretations of classic horror texts. The first is Mike Flanagan's "Carrie," set in the present day. The series follows sweet Carrie White (Summer H. Howell) as she's bullied at school by some of her vicious peers and at home by her deeply religious mom (Samantha Sloyan).

Crystal Lake (Peacock)

The second is “Crystal Lake,” a prequel to "Friday the 13th" centered on Pamela Voorhees, Jason Voorhees' mom. Played by Linda Cardellini, the series is a fun time, featuring exciting beats and callbacks to the original franchise that will get fans of the genre excited.
