Downloading music from LimeWire became a thing of the past when Spotify began reshaping how people listen to music. Now the platform is looking back at 20 years of streaming numbers, sharing for the first time the most listened to artists, songs, albums, podcasts, and audiobooks in its history.

This might be the greatest hits list, but also a map of global taste, fandom, and the sounds that defined everyday life, wheter is music for parties or workouts, heartbreaks, and commutes.

At the top of Spotify’s most-streamed artists of all time is Taylor Swift, whose catalog has become one of the defining soundtracks of the streaming era. Her rise to number one is not just due to her blockbuster albums; it also includes her record-breaking tours.

Right behind her is Bad Bunny, whose ranking shows the global explosion of Latin music in the past decade. Spanish-language music was once treated as a regional genre by the mainstream industry, but now, Latin music has become central to global pop culture, and this list proves it.

And Benito is not the only Latino representing; that momentum shows up repeatedly, especially with the inclusion of J Balvin and KAROL G, who also land among Spotify’s all-time streaming giants.

The Artists Who Dominated the Streaming Era

Spotify’s most-streamed artists list also shows the who’s who of 21st-century pop and hip-hop, but it also reveals how genre lines have blurred. Drake, The Weeknd, and Ariana Grande sit near the top, while artists as varied as Billie Eilish, Eminem, BTS, and Coldplay reflect the diversity.

The list also explains how catalogs now function as ecosystems. Fans, especially Post Malone, Bruno Mars, Kendrick Lamar, and Taylor Swift’s followers, return not only for singles but for full albums, deluxe editions, vault tracks, and curated moods.

Bad Bunny’s Album Leads All-Time Is a Big Deal

The most-streamed album in Spotify history belongs to “Un Verano Sin Ti,” a milestone that can be celebrated as a culture but also a win for the music industry. To put it in perspective, the album surpassed English-language blockbusters to take the crown, reinforcing Latin music’s reach and Bad Bunny’s singular status.

“Un Verano Sin Ti” became a lifestyle record, background music in vacations, social feeds, and summer memories worldwide. But this is not breaking news, as the Puerto Rican global sensation achieved his remarkable “three-peat” as the most-streamed artist on Spotify in 2020, 2021, and 2022.
