Her sweet comments come at an especially emotional time for Ariana. While the Grammy winner's "Petal" music video has racked up more than 11 million views in just three days, it has also reignited online discussion surrounding her weight.

Some social media users have criticized and body-shamed the singer, while others have argued that young women are looking to Grande as a standard for beauty, placing an unfair burden on her.

Grande is even walking away from a planned role in the West End revival of Sunday in the Park with George. "She's been happy performing her recent shows and being back on stage, but she's been overworked," one source told Page Six.

"She's been nonstop, and it's taking a toll. She's never handled the public scrutiny well, and constant chatter about her weight doesn't help."

Another insider stressed that despite thriving on tour, it wasn't the performances that led to her decision. They said it was the "nonstop public scrutiny," more than her demanding schedule, that ultimately pushed her to pull back.

A third source said the decision had been building for some time and she plans to spend time with "family and friends, with loved ones, and just enjoying some well-deserved downtime."

It's been a headline making year for Grande

While Ariana is making headlines, so is her ex-boyfriend Ethan Slater.  After internet chatter that Slater and his ex-wife Lilly Jay may have gotten back together after their split, a source swiftly shut it down with TMZ.

Sources close to Jay told TMZ she saw the rumors, and she is "absolutely not" reconciling with the former SpongeBob Musical star. An insider made it clear that Slater was also not trying to get back with her either.

Meanwhile, Grande has seemingly gotten back together with her ex Ricky Alvarez. The duo has been spotted sharing some PDA moments together, and he even spent the Fourth of July with her family

He will likely be a pillar of strength during her much-deserved break.
