Ricki Lake and Rosie O'Donnell have been friends for decades, and both share the experience of losing weight and getting a facelift. But O'Donnell wasn't always on board with the idea. Lake revealed that the comedian initially questioned her decision to get the procedure in 2024, but after going through her own weight-loss transformation, eventually decided to get one herself.

While on The Weekend View, Lake, 58, laughed about O'Donnell's initial reaction. "She's my really good friend - we talk all the time - and she was a little judgy. She would admit it," Lake recalled. "She's like, 'Why do you need it? You don't need it,'" she added.

But after losing more than 60 pounds, the 64-year-old decided to get one too. "Then, sure enough, she lost a bunch of weight on Mounjaro, and she went and had it done; she looks phenomenal," Lake said.

Lake and O'Donnell have both been refreshingly open about their experience with weight loss and plastic surgery. After losing 40 pounds, the former Ricki Lake talk show host had a deep-plane lower face and neck lift and a CO2 laser treatment in July 2024.

Two years later, she celebrated the anniversary by sharing previously unseen before-and-after pictures, giving followers a closer look at her transformation.

She's also never been shy about discussing the decision. During an appearance on Watch What Happens Live, Lake explained why she preferred being upfront about her procedure rather than pretending nothing had changed. "I'm fully transparent, always have been. I don't want there to be any stigma," she said, adding that she thought it was "the best facelift I've ever seen."

As for O'Donnell, the comedian previously revealed that she started taking GLP-1 medication after being diagnosed with type 2 diabetes in 2022. She later credited Mounjaro with helping her lose nearly 60 pounds and quieting what she described as constant thoughts about food.

In an interview with PEOPLE, the actress opened up about struggling with her weight for much of her life, including the shame she experienced growing up in an industry where appearance can make or break you. She even recalled how A League of Their Own director Penny Marshall once asked her to lose 20 pounds.

After losing the weight, O'Donnell also spoke about having excess skin around her chin, which ultimately influenced her decision to get a facelift in January 2026. The procedure reportedly cost her $90,000, but she explained that she spent months thinking about it before deciding to move forward.

The decision wasn't necessarily an easy one for her as someone who identifies as a feminist. O'Donnell admitted that she initially questioned whether getting cosmetic surgery went against her beliefs, but eventually came to see the choice as something she had the right to make for herself.

And while the physical changes have been a big part of her latest chapter, O'Donnell has also opened up about what she wants next. In July, she admitted, "I would like to be in love again."
