Bill Gates is one of the leading voices in technology. The founder of Microsoft played a key role in the rise of personal computing, a development that shifted our future and paved the way for our laptops, cellphones, and the way we work.

In a chat with The Indian Express, Gates shared his thoughts on Artificial Intelligence, including the three professions that he thinks won't be replaced by the seismic technology.

As reported by the website Marca, Gates predicts that three careers will be safe from AI: biology, energy experts, and programmers.

Per Gates, biologists drive much of human development and discovery, all through creative and intuitive processes that are difficult for artificial intelligence to grasp and replicate. While AI may serve as a great tool for research and parsing out information, a human brain is still capable of putting hypotheses together and making leaps in thinking, resulting in some of the biggest developments in human history.

In the case of energy experts and programmers, it's a similar situation. While AI is greatly equipped to handle research and massive amounts of data, it still lacks the ability that a human brain possesses, allowing people to create complicated pieces of software or adapt to the demands of global energy, especially in a world that's becoming more unpredictable.

Are there any other jobs that are safe from AI?

Gates has been discussing AI as the technology has earned a more prominent place in culture, keeping people informed about our uncertain future.

In a chat with Jimmy Fallon, Gates revealed that athletes might also be safe from their jobs becoming replaceable.

“You know, like baseball. We won't want to watch computers play baseball,” he said. “So there'll be some things that we reserve for ourselves, but in terms of making things and moving things, and growing food, over time, those will be basically solved problems.
