Willow Smith turned a special night for music and female creativity into a memorable fashion moment.
The 25-year-old singer stepped out in Los Angeles wearing a striking hot-pink mini dress as she joined British-Ivorian artist flowerovlove for an intimate conversation ahead of the release of her debut album, MINI SKIRT WARRIOR.
Willow’s vibrant look featured an asymmetrical neckline that swept across one shoulder before falling into a dramatic draped sleeve. The fabric gathered across the bodice and continued into a ruched mini skirt, where a metallic ring detail created a daring cutout at the hip.
The combination of saturated color, strategic ruching, and free-flowing fabric gave the dress an artfully undone quality that felt perfectly suited to Willow’s experimental approach to fashion. Rather than overwhelm the statement design with accessories, she allowed its unconventional silhouette to remain the focus.
She completed the outfit with delicate gold thong sandals featuring slim kitten heels. The minimalist shoes brought a subtle metallic accent to the ensemble while maintaining the effortless mood of the look. Willow also showcased the intricate tattoos across her arms and legs, which became a natural part of the styling.
Willow’s radiant beauty look:
For her beauty look, the “Wait a Minute!” singer wore her long locs partially swept away from her face and gathered into a voluminous style at the back of her head. Several strands were left loose, adding movement and a relaxed finish.
Her makeup appeared luminous and understated. A wash of warm golden color highlighted her eyes, while softly sculpted cheeks and a glossy neutral lip complemented the vivid pink of her dress without competing against it.
The result was polished but personal, remaining true to Willow’s preference for expressive beauty looks that do not feel overly perfected.
Willow shared glimpses of the outfit on her Instagram Stories, including a playful video of herself dancing outside the venue. She later posed alongside flowerovlove and another guest, showing the full impact of the leg-baring ensemble.
A meaningful musical celebration:
The gathering appeared to celebrate flowerovlove’s debut album, MINI SKIRT WARRIOR, which arrives on August 28. Willow took part in a live Q&A with the 21-year-old musician as the two discussed her new creative chapter before an audience.
The 12-track album explores girlhood, friendship, love, growing up and personal style. Its title comes from an alter ego flowerovlove created around the idea of using clothing as armor while navigating the transition into adulthood.
Willow also has a direct connection to the project. She collaborated with flowerovlove on the song “Girls Will Be Girls,” a celebration of female relationships and connection that is featured in Coachtopia’s fall campaign.
Their creative relationship predates the album. Willow previously made a cameo in flowerovlove’s self-directed music video for “American Wedding,” which transformed a wedding ceremony into a playful old-fashioned melodrama.
For flowerovlove, the collaboration also fulfilled a long-held ambition. Years before working with Willow, the London-born singer named her as the artist she most wanted to feature on a future project, praising her genre-bending sound and imagining that they could create something “magical” together.
