Jaden Smith had a special role in Karl-Anthony Towns and Jordyn Woods’ star-studded Malibu wedding, putting his fashion credentials to work for a very personal project.
The 28-year-old actor, musician, and designer revealed that he created a custom pair of Christian Louboutin shoes for Karl to wear on his wedding day, solving one particularly unusual challenge in the process: The NBA star wears a size 20.
“My Best Friend Got Married And I Made Karl Size 20 Red Bottoms,” Jaden wrote alongside a series of photos from the celebration. “Jordyn I Love You So Much Congratulations Karl I Love You Bro Keep The Swag On High.”
The photos offered a behind-the-scenes glimpse at the thoughtful gesture, showing Jaden dressed in black as he helped Karl prepare before the ceremony. In one image, the designer could be seen holding one of the black dress shoes, while another revealed the unmistakable bright red sole.
It was a fitting assignment for Jaden, who serves as Christian Louboutin’s first Men’s Creative Director. The fashion house announced his appointment in 2025, putting him in charge of four annual collections spanning men’s footwear, leather goods and accessories. His first full Fall/Winter 2026 collection debuted earlier this year.
For Karl, however, Jaden went beyond a regular collection piece, creating shoes specifically for one of the biggest days of his friend’s life.
A friendship connected by Jordyn Woods:
Jaden’s presence at the wedding also reflected a bond that stretches deep into Jordyn’s life. The bride has known the Smith family since childhood. Her late father, John Woods, worked in television and had ties to Will Smith, and Jordyn has previously described Jaden as one of her longtime best friends.
In fact, Jaden played an important role in another famous friendship in Jordyn’s life. He introduced her to Kylie Jenner when they were young. Jordyn and Kylie would go on to become inseparable before their highly publicized falling out in 2019, and have since rekindled their friendship.
The Smith family's connection to Jordyn was on full display during the wedding weekend. Jaden attended alongside his mother, Jada Pinkett Smith, and sister Willow Smith, joining an A-list guest list that included Kylie and Timothée Chalamet, Hailey and Justin Bieber, Michael B. Jordan, Gayle King and several of Karl’s New York Knicks teammates.
Inside Jordyn and Karl’s Malibu wedding:
Jordyn and Karl exchanged vows on August 15 at a private residence overlooking the Pacific Ocean in Malibu after quietly making their marriage official at a Santa Barbara courthouse days earlier.
Their love story began in Los Angeles in 2017, when they connected over a competitive game of Uno. They remained friends before their relationship eventually turned romantic in 2020, with Jordyn previously explaining that their bond deepened as they supported one another through the loss of their parents.
After six years together, Karl proposed on Christmas Eve 2025. The date carried an unexpected significance for Jordyn, whose parents had also become engaged on Christmas Eve.
For the Malibu ceremony, Jordyn walked down the aisle in a custom Danielle Frankel gown, while Karl opted for a made-to-measure Ralph Lauren Purple Label tuxedo. His custom red-bottom shoes from Jaden completed the look.
The celebration included a 15-piece band, four wedding cakes, and a late-night In-N-Out feast, but the newlyweds said their focus was on creating something intimate and meaningful despite the high-profile guest list. For Jaden, that personal touch extended all the way down to the groom’s shoes.
