Jordyn Woods has a simple explanation for why Jaden Smith was so involved in her wedding celebrations with Karl-Anthony Towns. Woods addressed social media criticism surrounding Smith’s presence at several parts of her wedding festivities, including her bridal shower and photos with her bridesmaids, after she and Towns married in Malibu on Aug. 15.
Woods made it clear that Smith’s involvement was exactly where he belonged. “Because he’s never missed an important moment in my life,” Woods wrote in an Aug. 29 TikTok video responding to questions about Smith’s presence.
The video included childhood photos of Woods and Smith alongside more recent memories, offering a glimpse at a friendship that stretches back decades.
Why Was Jaden Smith at Jordyn Woods’ Bridal Events?
Some social media users apparently questioned why Smith was photographed alongside Woods and her bridesmaids and why he attended her bridal shower. Woods directly referenced those comments in her TikTok.
“Why is Jaden with all of the girls?” she wrote over one of the images, before also addressing questions about his presence at the bridal shower and his involvement in helping Towns with his wedding shoes. Woods described Smith as the “epitome of a day ONE” and reflected on how their friendship has taken them “from diapers to marriage.”
She also revealed that Smith has consistently appeared during both happy and painful milestones. “He’s never missed a birthday,” Woods wrote, adding that Smith showed up at her father’s funeral and helped make her family laugh during an incredibly difficult time. “I’m so lucky I’ve never had to know a life without our friendship,” she added.
Smith’s visibility throughout the celebrations was not simply that of another celebrity wedding guest. Woods sees him as part of the personal support system that has been present throughout her life.
Jordyn Woods and Jaden Smith Have Been Friends Since Childhood
Woods and Smith’s connection goes back to their childhood. Woods grew up around the Smith family, including Jaden and his sister Willow Smith. Her late father, John Woods, worked in television and had professional ties to Will Smith. E! News reports that John worked as a sound engineer on “The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.”
Woods emphasized just how long the friendship has lasted by including pictures of herself and Jaden as children and babies in her TikTok response.
She also joked about eventually getting the chance to return the favor when Smith gets married. “I can’t wait for his wedding one day,” she wrote.
Smith was not officially a member of the bridal party. He did, however, pose for photos with Woods and her bridesmaids and participate in other wedding events.
Jaden Smith Had a Special Role in Karl-Anthony Towns’ Wedding Look
Smith’s involvement also extended to the groom.
As Christian Louboutin’s men’s creative director, Smith created custom red-bottom shoes for Towns to wear for the wedding. The NBA star required an especially memorable pair: size 20.
Smith celebrated the milestone on Instagram after the ceremony. “My Best Friend Got Married And I Made Karl Size 20 Red Bottoms,” he wrote.
Smith also shared his affection for both newlyweds, telling Woods he loved her and congratulating Towns. “Congratulations Karl I Love You Bro,” Smith wrote.
