Pedro Pascal is on a roll. Fresh off joining the SNL50 cast, he's now diving into a wild new role that promises plenty of action and surprises. It seems like every project he touches turns into a must-see event.

Pedro has always been the kind of actor who makes you sit up and take notice. In his latest move, he's leading an ensemble as diverse as daring. While his stint on SNL50 is already turning heads, his part in the new film "Freaky Tales" takes things to another level. And get this: Tom Hanks also pops up in both projects, adding to the cool factor.

Inside 'Freaky Tales': A Wild Ride

"Freaky Tales" is described as a pulpy blend of explosive action, edgy humor, gory kills, and sly twists. The film is set in Oakland, California, in 1987 and follows a mix of colorful characters, including an NBA star, a corrupt cop, a female rap duo, teen punks, neo-Nazis, and a debt collector. In the trailer, Pedro is introduced as a criminal on one last job – except he isn't really feeling the vibe. Expect chaos, plenty of bloodshed, and twists that keep you guessing.

A Stellar Ensemble and Unforgettable Moments

The movie brings together some serious talent. Alongside Pedro, you'll see performances from Ben Mendelsohn, Jay Ellis, Dominique Thorne, Jack Champion, and Ji-young Yoo. There's even a special spotlight on the final performance of Angus Cloud, the late "Euphoria" star who left a mark on everyone he worked with. With hip-hop pioneer Too $hort serving as an executive producer, "Freaky Tales" is a celebration of bold storytelling and unforgettable energy.

What Fans Can Expect

Premiering at the 2024 Sundance Film Festival, "Freaky Tales" is set to hit theaters on April 4. Co-directed by Ryan Fleck and Anna Boden, known for "Captain Marvel," the movie promises to be a vibrant mixtape of storytelling. Pedro's role is refreshingly complex as he navigates a world of explosive showdowns and gritty humor. It's exactly the kind of project that keeps us all excited for what's coming next.

More of Pascal

Pedro Pascal also leads "Fantastic Four: First Steps," as Reed Richards. The film marks an exciting new chapter for the Marvel Cinematic Universe and is the first time the franchise has adapted comic characters in comic book history.

The trailer is set in a 1960s retro-futuristic world akin to "The Jetsons." It follows Richards, Sue Storm (Vanessa Kirby), Johnny Storm (Joseph Quinn), and Ben Grimm (Ebon Moss-Bachrach) as they deal with the impact of the space mission that gave them supernatural abilities. "Forced to balance their roles as heroes with the strength of their family bond, they must defend Earth from a ravenous space god called Galactus (Ralph Ineson) and his enigmatic Herald, Silver Surfer (Julia Garner)," reads the film's synopsis. "And if Galactus’ plan to devour the entire planet and everyone on it weren’t bad enough, it suddenly gets very personal."
