Princess Isabella’s military uniform now carries a meaningful connection to her father.
After completing a demanding exercise alongside her fellow conscripts, the Danish princess received a REX badge featuring King Frederik’s monogram, marking a new milestone in her military service.
The Danish royal household shared the update with photographs of Isabella in camouflage, offering a glimpse of her life among the recruits at Slagelse Barracks.
In one image, the princess smiles with camouflage paint on her face and the crowned monogram visible on her uniform. Behind that smile was a challenging week.
According to the palace, Isabella joined the other conscripts for the traditional REX exercise in Southern Jutland, a demanding undertaking that lasted several days.
When the recruits returned to their barracks on Friday afternoon, they all received the REX badge bearing the King’s monogram. For Isabella, the insignia has an additional family connection, the sovereign whose symbol appears on her uniform is also her father.
A milestone shared with her fellow recruits
The palace’s announcement emphasized that Isabella completed the exercise alongside the other conscripts, with the entire group receiving their badges upon their return.
The update also introduced her as the royal family’s newest Guard Hussar, celebrating her progress nearly three months into her service.
Isabella began her military service on August 3 and is undertaking an 11-month program, according to the royal household. With the REX exercise behind her, she has reached a notable point in a commitment that still has several months to go.
The photograph captures that achievement through a small but significant detail. King Frederik’s monogram on his daughter’s camouflage uniform. Earned alongside her fellow recruits, the badge brings together Isabella’s military progress and her place in Denmark’s royal family.
