Queen Mary of Denmark closed out the Global Fashion Summit: Copenhagen Edition 2026 with an appearance that perfectly reflected the evening’s message, thoughtful elegance with a sustainable edge.

Held at Statens Museum for Kunst, the official Celebration Dinner gathered designers, innovators, sustainability leaders, and emerging entrepreneurs following three days of conversations centered on this year’s theme, “Building Resilient Futures.”

A Masterclass in sustainable royal dressing:

For the gala evening, Queen Mary once again demonstrated why she is regarded as one of Europe’s most sophisticated royal dressers, blending timeless tailoring, sentimental jewelry, and consciously reworked fashion.

The Danish queen arrived in a fluid white wrap blouse by Danish designer Jesper Høvring, a silhouette that brought effortless refinement to the look. The softly draped neckline and voluminous sleeves added a romantic softness, while the clean white tone balanced the richness of the statement skirt.

The centerpiece of the ensemble was a green jacquard A-line skirt from the H&M Conscious Exclusive Collection, notably a recycled piece from Queen Mary’s own wardrobe. Originally worn as a dress in 2018, the garment was later transformed into a skirt, giving the design renewed versatility and reinforcing the Queen’s support for circular fashion practices. The textured botanical motif, woven in shimmering shades of green and silver, created movement and dimension under the evening light.

She completed the outfit with white mesh pointed-toe heels by Jimmy Choo, adding a modern, delicate finish that complemented the airy elegance of the ensemble.

Queen Mary's beauty look:

Queen Mary’s beauty styling embraced understated sophistication. Her brunette hair was worn in loose, softly sculpted waves with a center part, creating a polished yet approachable finish. The glossy blowout framed her face beautifully and added movement to the overall look.

Her makeup focused on luminous natural beauty, featuring glowing skin, softly defined eyes with fluttering lashes, warm neutral shadow tones, and a rosy nude lip that enhanced her features without overpowering the ensemble. The overall effect was fresh, elegant, and distinctly modern royal glamour.

Adding evening sparkle were dazzling chandelier diamond earrings from Bruun Rasmussen, a meaningful choice since the same earrings were previously loaned to Princess Isabella of Denmark for her 18th birthday celebrations in 2025.

Fashion with purpose:

Queen Mary has attended the Global Fashion Summit nearly every year since its inception, and her appearance at the 2026 closing dinner reinforced her reputation as a royal deeply engaged with sustainable fashion initiatives rather than merely symbolic patronage.

Throughout the evening, the Queen met with sustainable designers, fashion companies developing environmentally conscious solutions, and participants in the “Next Gen Assembly” initiative supporting young innovators in the industry.

With over 1,000 representatives attending the summit across venues including the Copenhagen Concert Hall and the National Gallery, the event highlighted growing global momentum toward a more responsible fashion future, a mission Queen Mary continues to champion through both advocacy and example.

In a fashion landscape increasingly focused on longevity, craftsmanship, and mindful consumption, Queen Mary’s look served as a reminder that royal style can still be glamorous while embracing sustainability at its core.
