The 2026 FIFA World Cup is finally here and promises to deliver everything soccer fans love, including fierce national pride, unforgettable goals, packed stadiums, and dramatic moments that will be remembered for decades. But this summer's tournament is also bringing something far less expected to the world's biggest sporting stage, a Labubu!

The mischievous, fuzzy, sharp-toothed character from POP MART's wildly successful THE MONSTERS collection has become one of the most recognizable collectibles on the planet. Whether hanging from luxury handbags, appearing in celebrity social media posts, or selling out in stores within minutes, the Labubu has evolved from a designer toy into a global pop culture phenomenon, and could become as iconic as Hello Kitty.

Now, with the FIFA World Cup returning to North America for the first time since 1994, the brand introduced its biggest character to its biggest stage yet through the new collaboration titled THE MONSTERS × FIFA Series.

From Designer Toy to Global Sports Star

Labubu's rise has been remarkable. The character has already partnered with major brands and franchises, including Coca-Cola and the beloved Japanese anime series One Piece. Yet a FIFA World Cup collaboration represents a new level of mainstream visibility, especially since the event will be held in three countries.

A Collection Designed for Soccer Fans

Leading the collection is an oversized Vinyl Plush Doll featuring Labubu proudly holding the iconic World Cup trophy. The collectible combines the character's signature playful personality with the excitement and prestige of the world's most famous sporting event.

The lineup extends well beyond plush toys. Fans can also find pendant keychains, mini lamps, collectible glassware, magnets, and football-themed accessories inspired by the tournament, and more.

World Cup Activations Across North America

Activations and pop-up experiences across the United States, Mexico, and Canada will also give fans opportunities to interact with the collection in person. These events are expected to attract both soccer supporters and the growing community of designer toy enthusiasts who have helped transform LABUBU into an international sensation.

Labubu has been sending us signs all along, especially when it entered the soccer culture earlier this year, when a giant version of the character appeared in the official FIFA Sound music video for "Goals." The song features global music stars LISA of BLACKPINK, Anitta, and Rema.

Officially, the 2026 FIFA World Cup has its own mascots, which are Clutch the Bald Eagle, Maple the Moose, and Zayu the Jaguar. They will play a major role throughout the tournament's festivities across North America. However, Labubu's enormous popularity and dedicated fan base could make the monster one of the tournament's most talked-about unofficial stars.

The 2026 FIFA World Cup kicked off on June 11 in Mexico City, opening a month-long celebration of soccer unlike any other.
