Despite their enormous wealth and global fame, the Beckham family enjoys a surprisingly traditional approach to spending time together at home.
Victoria Beckham has revealed that family meals remain an important part of their weekend routine, with her husband, David Beckham, and children Romeo, Cruz, and Harper gathering around the table for a classic Sunday roast.
The fashion designer explained that, despite their luxurious lifestyle, the family values simple traditions, shared meals, and quality time away from their phones.
The Beckhams’ Traditional Sunday Roast
Every Sunday, the family sits down for dinner at approximately 6:30 p.m., enjoying a homemade roast complete with all the familiar British favorites.
Speaking about their menu, Victoria revealed that Yorkshire puddings, stuffing, and plenty of vegetables are essential parts of the meal. However, one traditional ingredient is noticeably absent.
“Yorkshire puddings are a big crowd-pleaser, stuffing, lots of vegetables. No parsnips — it's one of the only foods my husband does not like and will not eat,” she explained.
Victoria told The Sunday Times that the family is more traditional than people might expect. Dinner is also an opportunity for everyone to reconnect and enjoy one another's company without being distracted by their mobile phones.
Why Victoria Doesn’t Believe in Saving the Best Things for Special Occasions
Victoria also shared that she takes a relaxed approach to using expensive household items, insisting that beautiful possessions should be enjoyed rather than kept exclusively for special occasions.
She explained that the family doesn't worry too much about protecting their furniture with coasters or treating their crockery and glassware as untouchable.
“Things need to be used, things need to be shared. And if I've got beautiful glassware, I want everyone to use it,” she reflected.
When asked whether she worried about costly items becoming damaged through everyday use, Victoria made it clear that she prefers a practical approach to life.
“I don't think you can ever be too precious,” she said.
Her outlook reflects a desire to make the family home feel welcoming and lived-in, rather than treating it like a showroom.
Victoria Says the Beckhams Always Show Up for Each Other
Victoria previously spoke about the importance of family togetherness in an interview with ELLE last year, describing the Beckhams as a close-knit household that prioritizes supporting one another.
“That’s what the Beckhams do. We like to have fun. We like to spend time all together,” she said.
She added that their family is far more traditional than outsiders might imagine, emphasizing that they consistently encourage one another and make an effort to be present for important moments.
Victoria also reflected on her role as a mother and wife, explaining how much it meant to see David and their children supporting her career.
Recalling the moment her family came backstage after one of her fashion shows, she described seeing their expressions of pride as an unforgettable experience.
She also emphasized the value of maintaining her professional identity alongside family life, explaining that it is healthy for the children to see both parents pursuing their careers.
For Victoria, continuing to work is an important part of feeling fulfilled and becoming the best version of herself.
David Beckham Reveals the Family’s Saturday Barbecue Tradition
David has also offered a glimpse into the family's relaxed weekend habits, particularly their love of outdoor cooking.
In a previous interview with People, the former footballer revealed that the family regularly spends weekends in the British countryside, where Saturday barbecues can last almost the entire day.
“In the countryside in the UK, my kids are there every weekend, and we all grill every Saturday from 11 in the morning until 12 at night,” he shared.
However, David joked that Victoria is more interested in enjoying the food and drinks than preparing them.
“She is more about eating and drinking… whereas it's me and the boys, and Harper actually loves to cook as well,” he said.
The comments suggest that cooking has become another way for David and the children to bond, with Harper sharing her father's enthusiasm for spending time in the kitchen.
