The Debut: Dream Academy – Meet the Latina contestants from Chile, Cuba, Argentina and more


The show will be showing their journey as they embark on intense training to showcase their dancing and singing abilities.

K-pop fans are sharing their excitement for the new Netflix competition ‘The Debut: Dream Academy.’ After a rigorous audition process which included 120,000 contestants from across the world, only 20 have been selected to participate and be featured on the show, where a new girl group will ultimately be assembled.

The show will be showing their journey as they embark on intense training to showcase their dancing and singing abilities. Here are the four Latina contestants that will be captivating the audience.

Celeste Diaz

Among the 20 contestants, Celeste has been able to stand out for her talent and her signature pink hair. The 19-year-old Argentinian dancer described herself as “sweet, sensitive, and gentle,” proving that she has a unique personality that will shine throughout the competition.

Daniela Avanzini

Daniela Avanzini has been a proud Latina throughout her successful career as a dancer. The 19-year-old Cuban American first showcased her talent on season 8 of ‘America’s Got Talent, and went on to enter the top 10 on ‘So You Think You Can Dance: The Next Generation.’ Apart from being an incredible dancer, Daniela also sings in both English and Spanish and is known to have Venezuelan roots.

Lexie Levin

Born in Stockholm, Sweden, Lexie is proud of her Latina heritage. The 19-year-old contestant has described herself as “warm-hearted, sweet, and dreamy” with an incredible cultural background, which includes Chilean roots, apart from her European descent.

Samara Henrique Siqueira

Samara has already had some intense training prior to competing with the rest of the contestants. The 17-year-old Brazilian previously participated in The Bootcampers, and met the members of Now United in Dubai, learning choreography and participating in vocal training. The fierce dancer already has a social media fanbase, as she showcases her dance moves and vocal skills online.
