Serena Williams is showing a side of motherhood that has nothing to do with perfect family portraits or carefully planned moments.
The tennis icon shared a candid glimpse of life with her two daughters, Olympia and Adira, capturing the kind of scene many parents know well: everyone piled together, Mom exhausted and the kids wanting to be as close to her as possible.

In the images, younger daughter Adira sits on Williams' lap while Olympia rests her head on her mother. Williams appears to have her eyes closed as she holds both girls close.
Her caption summed up the moment. “Unfiltered. Raw. Just a tired mom with a full heart holding her whole world,” Williams wrote.
She finished the post with a simple message about moving forward: “Ready for whatever comes next.”
Williams shares Olympia and Adira with her husband, Alexis Ohanian. The couple welcomed Olympia in September 2017 and married later that year. Their second daughter, Adira, arrived in August 2023.

During a May 2026 appearance on IMO with Michelle Obama & Craig Robinson, Williams discussed how seriously she takes being available for her children. “I really try to be a present parent,” Williams said during the conversation.

Williams also said she did not leave Olympia for a full 24 hours until her eldest daughter was 6 years old, acknowledging that her approach may have been more intense than some parents would choose.
Williams wants to play an active role in raising her children rather than simply fitting family time around everything else.

Williams has offered several glimpses of her close relationship with Olympia and Adira in recent months. In August, she posted a photo embracing Olympia and wrote, “Sometimes all I need is her hug.”
Earlier in 2026, Williams also shared family photos and explained that although she does not frequently post those moments publicly, being a mother is a central part of her life. She said she spends the overwhelming majority of the year with her children.

Williams shared pictures of the girls during a shopping trip to Nike, where they stopped beside giant black-and-white images of their mother playing tennis.

During the Athlos LDN26 event in London in September, Ohanian discussed how the couple approaches their daughters' future career choices. Rather than steering them toward a particular profession, he said the family places importance on effort and doing something useful.
Olympia has already explored a variety of interests, including fashion, music, dance, sports and gaming. Ohanian said fashion design was currently the career path she appeared most interested in.
