Madonna's daughter Mercy James has a surprise job in Hollywood

Madonna's daughter Mercy has found a job in the entertainment world. An insider has revealed that Mercy started working on a famous show a couple of weeks ago.

As reported by The Daily Mail, Mercy is now working on "Watch What Happens Live." “She is lovely, just the sweetest most adorable girl," said an insider.

Rosie O'Donnell, Madonna's old friend, also spoke about Mercy and her job. “We text each other often, and I just saw her daughter on ‘Watch What Happens Live,'” said O'Donnell to PEOPLE. “Her daughter, Mercy, works there.’

“And it’s funny, Andy goes ‘look!’ And I thought he was introducing me to just a staff member,” continued O’Donnell. “And I was like, ‘Hi, what’s your name?’ And she goes, ‘Rosie, it’s Mercy!’ And I was like, ‘Oh my God, what are you doing here?'”

“But she’s worked there for like a year or so. So I was very happy for her and proud of her.”

Mercy is one of six of Madonna's kids. She was adopted from Malawi in 2009. She is the sister of Lourdes Leon, 29, Rocco Ritchie, 25, David Banda, 20, and twins Estere and Stella Ciccone, 13.

Madonna's experiences with motherhood

Over the years, Madonna has spoken about motherhood, revealing that even though she's raised six kids, balancing motherhood with work remains challenging.

“Even today, I struggle to understand how to be a mother as well as do my job," she said in an interview with Vanity Fair from 2023. "Because no matter where you are, whoever you are, having children and raising kids is a work of art. And nobody gives you a manual—you have to learn from your mistakes.”

She's also revealed that she didn't think about being a mother in her 30's, connecting it to her mother's death. “I rejected the idea of being a mother well into my 30s because I associated motherhood with sacrifice, suffering and ultimately death and I wanted none of that,” she wrote on an Instagram post from that same year.

She revealed that her kids have helped her feel grounded. “To say that I am [proud of] my children sounds arrogant or implies ownership. Better to say that they are all shining stars and I’m happy that their souls chose me to be their mother.”
