Argentina has done it again — they’ve made it to the World Cup final. After a hard-fought tournament and a hard-fought game against England, the Albiceleste earned their place in the final, where they’ll face Spain on Sunday, July 19. Lionel Messi's wife, Antonela Roccuzzo, celebrated every moment, with her just as thrilled as millions of Argentine fans who dream of lifting the World Cup once more, as they did in Qatar in 2022.
On social media, Antonela shared a look at her celebrations. In them, she's seen alongside her three sons: Thiago (13), Mateo (10), and Ciro (8). In the images, the mom of three can be seen in one of the boxes at Atlanta Stadium, living every moment of the game to the fullest.
“Thank you God! Let’s go Argentina!!!! To the final!!” she wrote in the post's caption.
In all photos, Antonela is seen proudly sporting her team's jersey, with the number 10 printed on the back, referencing Messi. Her three sons are also seen wearing the same shirt and looking incredibly happy to be celebrating their dad's latest achievement, who could be making history once again next weekend.
Tini Stoessel, Rodrigo De Paul’s fiancée, joined in the celebrations over Argentina’s spot in the final and commented on Antonela’s post with heart emojis and her country’s flag. Other notorious celebrities also dropped encouraging comments, including María Becerra, Stefi Roitman, and Valentina Ferrer, sharing in Antonela's joy.
Will Argentina Repeat the Feat from Qatar 2022?
Now that Argentina has advanced to the final against Spain, Albiceleste fans are wondering if their team can win back-to-back World Cups.
For Argentines, this would be their fourth World Cup title; they’ve already brought the trophy home in Argentina 1978, Mexico 1986, and Qatar 2022.
Which Countries Have Won Back-to-Back World Cups?
If they were to win the title, Argentina would become the third country to win consecutive World Cups. The only nations in history to have done so are Italy (1934 and 1938) and Brazil (1958 and 1962).
When it comes to Spain, if they were to win, this would be their second World Cup. The first time the team lifted the trophy was at South Africa in 2010, after defeating the Netherlands.
