Tom Brady calls dad his 'idol and hero' on golf trip to Ireland for Father's Day

Tom Brady had some special plans this Father's Day. The football legend took his dad to Ireland for a special trip, with the two playing golf on some stunning courses.

In a post on Instagram, Brady shared numerous photos alongside his dad, with the two clearly enjoying themselves on various golf courses. 

In them, the Brady men hold on to each other and took photos of themselves as they showed off their skills. In the post's caption, Brady wrote some sweet words for his dad, Thomas Brady Sr. "These pictures are worth 1000 words and even more memories. It’s hard to describe how special this trip to Ireland was with my idol and hero, my dad," he wrote.

"It didn’t take much convincing to head to Ireland to play some of the best golf courses in the world," he continued, tagging the various golf courses they attended. "To be on the course with my dad on Father’s Day was one of the greatest experiences of my life. Returning to Ireland was special in its own right, and the incredible hospitality and kindness of the Irish people will always hold a place in my family’s heart." 

Brady shared that his dad worked hard to provide for him and his family, made up of his parents and his sisters, Maureen, Julie, and Nancy. 

"I’m beyond blessed to create memories like these, and it’s all because of the work my dad did for our family and how he has supported us all and loved us unconditionally. The foundation of love and support from my mom and dad was second to none. I can only hope to be back here someday with my kids years from now," he concluded.

Over the years, Tom Brady's family has shared a look at their life and the way in which one of the world's biggest athletes was raised. 

“Whether it was guitar, ballet, piano…we wanted them to try everything,” said Tom Sr. in an interview with The Eagle-Tribune. “But all of them always seemed to move toward sports, which was fine with Galynn and myself. We were both sports nuts.” He revealed that, in one year, his kids participated in 315 games. 

While Brady opted for football, his sisters played collegiate softball and soccer throughout their lives.
