Anytime Jennifer Aniston says Brad Pitt's name, it sends the internet into a frenzy. The actress recently reunited with her longtime friend and former Friends co-star Lisa Kudrow for Variety's Actors on Actors series, where they reflected on the iconic show.
During the conversation, Kudrow said that she had only recently watched the series in full. As they reminisced about old episodes and celebrity guest stars, one immediately came to mind.
While discussing favorite moments, Kudrow brought up the Thanksgiving episode, "The One With the Rumor," where Pitt played Will Colbert, a former high school classmate who famously hated Rachel Green and co-founded the "I Hate Rachel Green Club."
"When Brad was on, that was hilarious," Kudrow recalled. Aniston agreed, responding, "I know. How funny." She went on to reminisce about the impressive lineup of A-list stars who appeared on the series. "The movie stars who came on Friends. Brad, Bruce Willis, Julia Roberts, Isabella Rossellini. We had so many—Sean Penn."
She also shared insight into what was happening behind the scenes, saying, "They were always nervous. Remember? I always found it fascinating how nervous they were."
It's not the first time Aniston has spoken fondly about Pitt's guest appearance. Back in 2021, while promoting Friends: The Reunion, she named Pitt among her favorite celebrity guest stars.
"Mr. Pitt was wonderful," she said at the time, while Kudrow added that the Oscar winner was "fantastic."
Pitt only starred in one episode, but his work earned him an Emmy nomination and remains one of the most talked-about celebrity cameos in Friends' history.
As one of the most headline-making celebrity couples that came with a love triangle and plenty of rumors, whenever Aniston mentions Pitt, fans go wild. More than 20 years after their divorce, they continue to make sparks of speculation.
In 2020, when they shared a warm backstage greeting at the Screen Actors Guild Awards, it quickly went viral and reignited hopes among fans that "Brad and Jen" might somehow find their way back to each other.
Following their 2005 divorce, Aniston made it clear that she had no ill feelings towards him, even staying hopeful for a friendly future. "I really do hope that someday we can be friends again," she told Vanity Fair at the time. "I will love Brad for the rest of my life. He's a fantastic man. I don't regret any of it, and I'm not going to beat myself up about it."
But while the internet can't let go of one of them, both Aniston and Pitt have long since moved on. The 57-year-old is reportedly happier than she's been with her boyfriend Jim Curtis.
Sources recently told People that the couple celebrated their first anniversary and that Curtis has become a supportive, steady presence while she balances filming the fifth season of The Morning Show.
Insiders say the relationship developed naturally after the two spent months building a friendship before becoming romantically involved. "It's a great partnership and makes Jen very happy," a source said, adding, "Jim's a special guy."
Meanwhile, Pitt has also found love. The actor has been in a serious relationship with jewelry executive Ines de Ramon, with sources describing the relationship as one of the most stable he's had in years following his lengthy and highly publicized divorce from Angelina Jolie. They live together, and she's been by his side as he travels around the world to film and for events.
As for whether we will ever see them walk down the aisle again, sources have told outlets it's not on his radar. "He has a great partner whom he appreciates, but there is no rush in that direction," an insider recently told Daily Mail.
As for Aniston, a source recently told Star, “Jen still sees Jim as the person she wants to grow old with, but right now there’s no room in her schedule for a wedding." Their relationship is still fresh, too. “She wants it to be special and not rushed. Jen’s had to tell Jim in no uncertain terms, ‘I can’t marry you’ — not right now, anyway," the insider continued.
