Jennifer Lopez is living her new chapter as a single woman to the fullest and making it clear that she is enjoying every moment of it. The singer, actress, and producer appeared on Wednesday's episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live! while promoting her upcoming Netflix romantic comedy "Office Romance."

During the conversation, Lopez opened up about her current relationship status and shared candid thoughts that many fans interpreted as a subtle reflection on her past marriage to Ben Affleck.

When host Jimmy Kimmel asked the star, “You're single right now?” Lopez immediately confirmed the news with a bright smile. “I am!” she replied, prompting cheers from the studio audience. “I should have done it sooner,” she admitted. “I've been doing it all wrong. I've been doing it all wrong, trust me.”

While Lopez did not directly mention Affleck during the exchange, the comments arrived less than two years after the pair's highly publicized marriage came to an end. The former couple rekindled their romance in 2021, nearly two decades after calling off their first engagement.

However, the relationship ultimately proved short-lived. Lopez filed for divorce from Affleck on their second wedding anniversary, and the divorce was officially finalized in 2025.

No Interest in Reality TV Romance

Kimmel then jokingly floated the idea of Lopez becoming the next star of The Bachelorette. “No,” Lopez said while shaking her head. “Are you crazy! I'm not doing anything to ruin how I feel right now.”

Lopez described her current situation as positive. “Fantastic,” she said when discussing being single. Still, she hasn't completely ruled out the possibility of finding love again someday. “I'll find somebody somewhere one day if they're good enough,” she added.

Focused on Career and a Fresh Start

Lopez's comments come as she continues to concentrate on her professional projects. The multi-hyphenate entertainer has been actively promoting “Office Romance,” her upcoming Netflix film, while balancing her music and business ventures, including JLo Beauty.

JLo is also preparing to send her kids to college after their high school graduation. Max and Emme will move out soon, and the Latina star is having a lot of feelings. She shares her 18-year-old twins with her ex-husband, Marc Anthony.

“Tomorrow one of them graduates,” she told Kimmel. “Don't talk about it cause we start crying," she added. Kimmel asked her if she'd be crying at the graduation ceremony, and Lopez said, "Yeah. I've been crying for two months."

“Will you look around at the other parents and see who's not crying and think, ‘I love my children more than they do?'” Kimmel said.

Lopez revealed that Max and Emme attended different high schools, and they'll also be attending different colleges. When asked about taking the kids to different schools and having to go to separate graduations, Lopez said that it was never inconvenient for her. “It's fine. I want them to be happy, go where they want to go and do what they want to do," she said.
