Kylie Jenner has been in front of the cameras for most of her life. The media personality and entrepreneur is opening up about her memories before she became a reality TV star.
Many years ago, the Kardashian family played a key role in the popularization of reality TV. Their show, "Keeping Up With The Kardashians," followed their family and their lives, with cameras populating their homes and recording their everyday interactions.
In an appearance on the Therapuss podcast, hosted by Jake Shane, Jenner opened up about some of her early memories, when there weren't cameras around her house. "I do, yes, but not a lot of memories. So I was nine years old,” she said.
“They were there one day in the house, and everyone made it seem really normal. So it felt pretty natural, I will say.”
Jenner shared that she had some special memories of her first years making the show. She also revealed that, as the show progressed from a reality TV program airing on E! News to its current iteration called "The Kardashians" on Hulu, it's served as a glue of sorts for the family.
“The earlier seasons were the best and so many memories," she said. “I felt like it really kind of brought us all together. It still does today. And, we’re all hanging out this Sunday, we're doing a movie night at my mom’s house."
"No cameras, but other than that, our schedules and our lives and our kids and everything, it gets to be a lot that filming really brings us and keeps us together because we’re all working together. So it’s been a blessing. So many fond memories. The beginning was the best.”
Kylie on navigating fame from a young age
Jenner discussed all sorts of topics in the podcast, from her love of video games and "The Legend of Zelda" to the crazy experiences she was exposed to from an early age due to her fame and notoriety.
“The malls were shut down. Kendall and I talk about that often. Because when you’re in it, and you’re so young, you don’t even realize what’s happening,” Jenner said. “And then when you are an adult, and you look back, you’re like, ‘oh my God, we were children.’ And we had no idea this was how crazy this was, right? — We were just working, and it just it was wild.”
“There are definitely memories that Kendall and I will send to each other all the time, like ‘We what? We did this?'” said Jenner of her public appearances in events as a young teen. "There are photos that we find that we’re like, ‘this was crazy.'”
