Kate Cassidy is making headlines again, after sharing an unreleased video featuring Liam Payne, filmed during what would become their final day together in Argentina. The footage, quietly recorded before tragedy struck, shows the couple enjoying a peaceful horseback ride against the scenic backdrop of Argentina’s countryside.
The clip, now circulating online, is believed to be one of the last visual memories of the pair before Payne’s death on October 16, 2024, in Buenos Aires.
A Last Goodbye
The video, which shows a carefree, intimate day outdoors, has taken on new meaning after Payne died after falling from a third-floor hotel balcony in Buenos Aires. Cassidy, now 27, had been vacationing with him but returned to the United States just days before the incident.
Alongside the video, she shared: “Enjoy every moment life brings you, because I didn’t know this would be the last time I’d see my boyfriend in this life,” she wrote. In the caption, she added simply: “A beautiful last day together.”
Months after the tragedy, Cassidy opened up further in an interview with The Sun in February 2025. “Love is very optimistic, and you just hope everything will work out in the end,” she said. “Obviously, if I had known, if I could see the future, I never would have left Argentina.”
“I never thought this would happen, that everything would end this way. It still doesn’t feel completely real that he’s not here,” she added. Cassidy also described Payne as one of the best people she had ever known, adding that he was humble, charming, and grounded despite global fame as a member of One Direction.
Liam Payne's $32 million estate
While Cassidy was Liam’s partner, she was not legally married to him, which means the estate of the late One Direction star is officially under the guidance of the two other people who knew him well.
According to court documents obtained by People, Cheryl Cole, who is the former partner of Payne and mother to his 9-year-old son Bear Payne, has been appointed as co-administrator of his estate, in addition to Richard Mark Bray, a music industry lawyer.
It was reported that after accounting for debts and expenses, the duo was granted limited authority, which totals approximately $32.2 million. However, until a general grant is issued, Cheryl and Bray can't distribute any of those millions. They can manage the estate, not move the money.
Payne was just 31 when his death was ruled accidental, caused by multiple traumatic injuries and both internal and external bleeding. A toxicology report revealed the presence of drugs in his system.
