Pete Davidson has spent years erasing the ink that once covered his body, but after his painful and expensive journey, he’s making an exception. The comedian and actor, who’s known for dedicating tattoos to Kim Kardashian and her four kids, is now dedicating tattoos to his bloodline as he just debuted ink for his baby daughter, Scottie, whom he shares with girlfriend Elsie Hewitt

During a recent appearance at CinemaCon promoting his upcoming movie “How to Rob a Bank,” Davidson revealed a small but meaningful tattoo tucked discreetly between his beard and ear. Written vertically in simple black ink: “Scottie.”

“Dad life is f--king awesome,” Davidson told People last month. “It is exhausting and rewarding and cute. And I'm very lucky because Elsie is a fantastic mom, and I can't stress enough how lucky I am.”

Fatherhood Changed Pete Davidson in a Big Way

Davidson, 32, has never been shy about sharing his soft side, but fatherhood appears to have unlocked something even deeper. “You have this overly protective like...if one paparazzi guy pops out I'm going to f--king beat the living s--t out of him,” he told People. “So that's a weird gear because I'm not a fighter guy.”

He added, “I feel primal. It’s funny.” That instinct could also be the reason why, after removing nearly all of his estimated 200 tattoos, one fresh piece appeared.

Why Pete Davidson Started Removing His Tattoos

Davidson’s tattoo removal saga began in 2020 after getting sober and reevaluating his purpose in life. “I got sober, and I saw myself in the mirror, and I was like, ‘Nah. Who that?’” he said during an appearance on Today. “I was like, ‘I got to change it up a little bit.’”

Despite making the decision, the process, however, has been brutal. “So if anybody out there is watching and thinking about getting a tattoo, make sure you really want to get it,” he warned.

On Late Night with Seth Meyers, Davidson admitted the removals were motivated partly by acting. “I honestly never thought that I would get the opportunity to act and I love it a lot,” he said. “You have to get there three hours earlier to cover all your tattoos.” Adding: “So now I'm burning them off, but burning them off is worse than getting them.”

He got even more graphic while speaking with Jimmy Fallon. “They have to burn off a layer of your skin and then it has to heal for, like, six to eight weeks and you can't get in the sunlight,” he said. “And then you've gotta do it, like, 12 more times.”

By some reports, Davidson has spent six years and roughly $200,000 removing his ink. One insider told People it represented a “fresh start,” while another said, “Things are really going well for him, everything is moving in the right direction.”
