Priyanka Chopra is opening up about her past. The actress and producer has been working in the entertainment world for years, building an immense following in India and later moving on to Hollywood. Throughout her years in the industry, she's tried many things, among them a fledgling career as a pop star that included collaborations with artists like Will.I.Am, Dr. Dre, and Pitbull.

Chopra was recently on the cover of Marie Claire, where she discussed all sorts of topics, from her career to her marriage to Nick Jonas. She discussed the two songs she released as a singer, "In My City," with Will.I.Am, and "Exotic," with Pitbull.

"That fearless unwavering confidence in myself—I don’t know where it used to come from," she said, describing her desire to jump into the music world without having any previous experience.

"Sure, I can’t hit the note because Pitbull or Dr. Dre is sitting right there," she joked. "I quickly realized that I wasn’t made for it and should go back to my day job of acting."

According to her interview, she has 40 songs buried somewhere that she plans not to show to her husband, one of the biggest pop stars of his generation. "They’re in a vault somewhere until I find the confidence to bring them out again," she said.

In the interview, Chopra opened up about her relationship with Nick Jonas, whom she married seven years ago and shares a daughter with.

"It feels like I don’t remember life before my husband, and it feels like he’s been in my life forever. It’s great. I’m lucky—really lucky," she said. "We love our little life and our little family and wherever we go, we fly home immediately. I’m on my way to the airport literally taking off my wig, my makeup, changing in the car, just because I want to run back home."

Chopra also opened up about the challenging experience of welcoming their daughter, Malti, who was born prematurely via surrogate. "Our daughter was very coveted and very desired because I had a really tough time with pregnancies," she said.

"She’s my miracle baby, so everything just stopped when she was born. I think it’s a preemie mom or a NICU mom thing, but I’m still in constant fear. When she’s not right by my side or she’s at school or when I’m in a different country, it’s this feeling that your heart is running outside of your body."
