Marc Anthony has been making music for most of his life. As one of the leading proponents of salsa music and one of the most talented musicians in the world, many wonder if his talents are genetic and if he's passed them down to his children.
Anthony is the father of seven kids from different partners. He recently revealed that they're all musically talented, even though he doesn't know whether or not they'll pursue music as a career.
“They all do, to some sense,” he said in an interview with E! News. “But it's gonna come down to what they want to do. But are they capable? Yes.”
He also opened up about the possibility of his kids joining him onstage at his highly anticipated Vegas residency, "Vegas... My Way!", which kicks off on February 13th.
His show coincides with his ex Jennifer Lopez's Vegas residency, "Up All Night," which concludes with some shows in March.
“Anything is possible,” said Anthony. “It's gonna come down to some are in school, some are on break.”
Anthony is the father of Arianna, 31, and Chase, 35, whom he shares with Debbie Rosado; Ryan, 22, and Cristian, 25, with Puerto Rican beauty queen Dayanara Torres; Emme and Maximilian, 17, with Lopez; and Marco, 2, with his wife Nadia Ferreira. He's expecting his eighth child soon, with him and Ferreira sharing the news earlier this year.
Marc Anthony's journey with parenting
Over the years, Marc Anthony has opened up about being a father and the decisions he's made over his life. In 2016, he shared a candid response about his decision to work so hard and to focus on his career.
"The one regret would be that what I chose to do took so much of my time," he said in an appearance on CBS' Sunday Morning. "What I would have done to have been a stay-at-home dad, and you know, witnessed every second of everything. I would have loved that. Didn't work out that way."
"It's the one thing that just tugs at me going and — that's the biggest sacrifice. And you start to wonder was it all worth it. Was it worth it? You know, on that level."
Most recently, he revealed his mindset as he prepares to welcome his eighth child. “I’m enjoying it. I’m enjoying every second of it," he said. “I’m extremely fortunate.”
