The Princess of Wales has long been celebrated for her disciplined approach to nutrition, and she’s also a skilled home cook who loves preparing wholesome meals for her husband, Prince William, and their three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis.

Breakfast, after all, is the most important meal of the day as it sets the tone and gets you moving in the morning, making the right choice essential. At 44, Kate Middleton knows exactly what her ideal morning meal looks like.

At 44, Kate Middleton knows exactly what her ideal morning meal looks like.

Much like her sister-in-law, the Duchess of Sussex, the Princess of Wales is known to enjoy a morning smoothie, a simple, light, and convenient way to pack a nutritious meal into one glass.

According to the Daily Mail, her go-to blend combines kale, spirulina (a type of blue-green algae), matcha, spinach, romaine lettuce, cilantro leaves, and blueberries to create the perfect morning elixir.

Kate’s brain-boosting, hormone-balancing smoothie:

To understand why this smoothie is Kate’s go-to breakfast, ¡HOLA! spoke exclusively with Gabriela Peacock, a qualified nutritional therapist with over a decade of experience.

She explains, “Princess Kate’s smoothie is a brilliant example of how simple, natural ingredients can deliver real nutritional benefits. Leafy greens like kale, spinach, and romaine are packed with vitamins and magnesium, which help maintain energy and hormonal balance."

She continues, “Spirulina provides a concentrated source of plant protein and antioxidants. Blueberries are fantastic too. They support brain health and reduce inflammation."

On why this smoothie makes such a smart breakfast choice, she says, “It’s easy to make and easy to digest. It hydrates while delivering micronutrients first thing in the morning and helps keep blood sugar levels more stable than a sugary cereal would.”

The expert concludes, “I often tell my clients that if they can combine fiber, antioxidants, and a little protein at breakfast, they’re giving their bodies exactly what they need to stay energized and focused throughout the day.”

According to Charlotte Faure Green, a registered BANT nutritionist (British Association for Nutrition and Lifestyle Medicine), oatmeal is loaded with soluble fiber, which keeps you fuller for longer and curbs mid-morning cravings.

Speaking to HELLO!, she explains, “This can reduce late-morning or late-night snack urges, making it easier to maintain a lower daily caloric intake. Oat fiber also helps regulate blood sugar levels, which is essential for weight management.”
