The day after attending Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez's wedding in Venice, Queen Rania of Jordan celebrated a special occasion for her family: her son's birthday. Crown Prince Hussein turned 31 on Saturday, June 28—his first birthday since becoming a father. Her Majesty marked her eldest child's birthday with a sweet photo of Hussein holding his daughter, Princess Iman bint Al Hussein bin Abdullah II.
"Happy birthday my dear Hussein - baby Iman’s biggest hero!" Rania wrote alongside the father-daughter image.
The royal baby traveled to Italy with her parents, Crown Prince Hussein and Princess Rajwa, last week. The couple and their daughter were spotted arriving at Venice Marco Polo Airport on Thursday ahead of Jeff and Lauren's star-studded nuptials. Rajwa and Hussein attended the welcome party on June 26 and the wedding ceremony on June 27 with Rania, in addition to Hussein's sister Princess Iman and her husband, Jameel Thermiotis. Guests at the wedding also included Ivanka Trump, Jared Kushner, Kim Kardashian, Khloé Kardashian, Kris Jenner, Orlando Bloom and Tom Brady.
Rania, as well as Rajwa, Hussein and baby Iman were pictured leaving Venice on the Crown Prince's birthday on Saturday. The royal couple coordinated in black tees as they left, with the doting dad carrying his little Princess.
Hussein and Rajwa's daughter will celebrate her first birthday this summer. The Crown Prince and Princess welcomed their first child on Aug. 3, 2024 at the King Hussein Medical Center. Following his daughter's birth, Hussein wrote on his Instagram: "Praise be to God for His abundant blessings. We are immensely grateful for the safe birth of our daughter and the health of my beloved wife, Rajwa."
The Crown Prince added, "Our heartfelt thanks to our family and the Jordanian people for their kind wishes, which deeply touched us during these special moments."
Hussen and Rajwa have been married since June 2023. The Royal Hashemite Court commemorated the Crown Prince and Princess' second wedding anniversary earlier this month with a romantic photo of the couple. Ahead of their anniversary last year, Hussein admitted to Al Arabiya that his life has “changed for the better” since getting married. “It’s a great blessing that I found my life partner,” Hussein said. “Marriage has helped me become more relaxed. Rajwa is calm, easy-going and funny.”
“She has friends in Jordan from a long time ago, so she is accustomed to the country, which made things a lot easier for her. Usually, we spend a lot of time at home. We can’t go out much, as you know,” he continued, adding, “We are happy.”
