Priyanka Chopra pairs haute couture with a €1.5 million necklace during brother’s pre-wedding

Nick Jonas and Priyanka Chopra have traveled to India this week for a very special occasion—the wedding of Priyanka’s brother, Siddhartha Chopra, and Neelam Upadhyaya. As the groom’s sister, Priyanka plays a prominent role in the celebrations, and her fashion choices live up to the event's grandeur. Unlike Western weddings, where brides traditionally wear white, Hindu wedding ceremonies are known for their vibrant colors, with brides typically donning shades of red.  

As Siddhartha’s sister, Priyanka ensured her look was spectacular even before the official wedding ceremony. These stunning images are from the Mehendi, a pre-wedding ritual where the bride’s hands and feet are adorned with henna, and guests celebrate with music and dance. Among those in attendance were Priyanka’s in-laws, Kevin Jonas and Denise Miller-Jonas, who were elegantly dressed in traditional Indian attire.

For this special occasion, Priyanka opted for a breathtaking custom corset gown designed by renowned Indian Haute Couture designer Rahul Mishra. The designer confirmed the creation on social media, though he did not specify which of his collections inspired the final look.  

However, after some analysis, it appears the outfit draws influences from Mishra’s Fall 2023 collection, known for its floral motifs and intricate golden embellishments. A similar cream-colored skirt from the runway suggests a possible inspiration for Priyanka’s stunning ensemble.  

Her attire featured a lehenga, an exquisite traditional Indian outfit crafted from delicate ivory organza. The skirt was adorned with hand-embroidered mountain flowers, while the structured corset-style top boasted vibrant botanical motifs and shimmering sequins, catching the light beautifully with every movement.

A Show-Stopping €1.5 Million Bvlgari Necklace  

While her couture ensemble was mesmerizing, her choice of jewelry truly stole the spotlight. Priyanka accessorized with a striking rose gold diamond necklace from Bvlgari, a luxury brand for which she serves as an ambassador.  

According to fashion commentator Diet Sabya, who has covered high-profile Indian weddings, including the extravagant Ambani celebrations, this exquisite piece of High Jewelry features seven pear-shaped morganites, six cushion-cut mandarin garnets, and nine cabochon-cut amethysts. The necklace carries an astonishing value of ₹10-12 crores, approximately €1.5 million.

Priyanka, who married Nick Jonas in 2018 with both a Western and a Hindu wedding, is no stranger to grand celebrations. She wore an elegant Ralph Lauren gown for her Western ceremony, while for her Hindu wedding, she donned a stunning red Sabyasachi Mukherjee lehenga, meticulously handcrafted over 3,720 hours.  

Nearly seven years later, returning to Mumbai for her brother Siddhartha’s wedding must be a deeply sentimental moment for her. She was spotted arriving at the airport on Monday, February 3, sporting a chic, sporty ensemble featuring a jacket, bra, shorts, and a cap, paired with thick-frame sunglasses and an oversized Hermès Birkin bag, a travel essential originally designed for long-haul flights.
