Shakira has premiered the music video for “Dai Dai,” the official anthem of the 2026 FIFA World Cup. The video has caused a massive stir because it features major football stars who will be playing in this World Cup.

It also includes tributes to legendary figures such as the late Diego Armando Maradona, alongside other international football icons such as Pelé, Kaká, and Ronaldo Nazario. Although the track featuring Burna Boy was released a few days ago, the video was highly anticipated, as football fans eagerly wondered which familiar faces would make an appearance.

The Angel of Independence, the winged victory statue located in Mexico City, is also featured. Mexico City is one of the host cities for this World Cup, which is already historic in its own right. It will feature three host countries (the United States, Mexico, and Canada) and include 48 national teams, up from 32 previously.

The 2026 World Cup kicks off on Thursday, June 11, 2026, with the opening match between Mexico and South Africa at the Mexico City Stadium in Mexico City, and wraps up on Sunday, July 19, 2026, in the United States.

In addition to performing the official 2026 World Cup theme song, the Colombian star will perform at the halftime show of the final, which will take place on July 19 at the New York/New Jersey Stadium in East Rutherford, just a few miles from New York City. Madonna and BTS will also perform alongside the singer, ensuring that the closing ceremony of the 2026 FIFA World Cup is completely unforgettable.
