Shakira just secured a flawless victory that made worldwide headlines while her ex, Gerard Piqué, has chosen a much more private life. The former Spanish footballer, who split from the Colombian star nearly four years ago, has been enjoying his relationship with Clara Chía Martí away from public attention.
Still, escaping the paparazzi is not always possible, as the pair where captured during their romantic getaway to Venice. At the beginning of the month, Piqué and Clara were photographed visiting the Italian city.

According to the Spanish magazine Lecturas, the couple’s stay included visits to some of the islands in the Venetian archipelago, including Burano and Giudecca. Naturally, Piqué and Clara traveled by Venice’s iconic water taxis, and they were photographed aboard them on several occasions.

As most tourists do, Clara and Piqué could not resist taking out their phones to capture memories of the romantic trip. The former FC Barcelona player and his girlfriend were seen chatting comfortably, exchanging smiles and glances, and walking peacefully through the city streets.

Although the photos were taken from a distance, panelists on the show said the paparazzi confirmed Clara was wearing “a huge rock” on her finger, referring to a flashy diamond ring.
The show even discussed the possibility that the couple may have gotten engaged during their U.S. trip.
