Trinity Rodman is her boyfriend's biggest fan. Over the past week, she's been in New York, supporting Ben Shelton's impressive US Open performance. Last night, Shelton defeated Carlos Alcaraz for the first time in his career. After the match, which concluded at 3:30 a.m., Shelton sent a shout-out that left out Rodman. Her reaction was priceless.
© AFP via Getty ImagesShelton sent a shout-out to his sister and best friend, who were next to Rodman as they watched him in the stands. "I'm just hoping my best friend and sister over there don't have to be at work at 6 a.m. in three hours," Shelton said in a post-match interview.
"It would be huge for their employers to let them have the day off today."
Rodman's reaction was captured on camera, with her saying, "What about me?!" in the midst of laughter. She has been attending most of the US Open, with her home base located in Washington, D.C., where she plays for the Washington Spirits soccer team.
Shelton's match against Alcaraz was the latest-finishing match in US Open history, with Shelton coming out on top after a five-set battle.
“I’m tired. It was a war,” said Shelton. “Carlos is one of the greatest champions of our sport. It was the most enjoyable match I’ve had in my career, for sure.”
Shelton has now advanced to the last four in the tournament, playing against American Francis Tiafoe. He's en route to his first Grand Slam.
Rodman's new look
© Getty ImagesAt the start of the tournament, Rodman shared a look at her new hairstyle, debuting blonde curls. Through the tournament, she's worn numerous stylish outfits and has become a regular feature on the TV coverage, with fans loving her interactions with Shelton.
Following Alcaraz's defeat, Rodman made the phone sign towards Shelton, his trademark celebratory move. He mimicked her while poking his tongue out.
She's been celebrating his wins, sharing posts on Instagram. “My world,” she captioned one of her Instagram stories, sharing Shelton's achievement.
