In a world obsessed with generic protein shakes and calorie counting, Erling Haaland is rewriting the playbook. There are world-class strikers, and then there is the Norwegian "cyborg," a player whose record-breaking dominance on the pitch is fueled by a lifestyle that defies modern sports nutrition.

Haaland consumes a staggering 6,000 calories a day, but you won’t find processed supplements on his menu. Instead, the Manchester City star relies on an "ancestral" diet featuring cow hearts and liver to maintain the physique powering his team's historic winning streak.

While his peers stick to chicken and pasta, Haaland’s commitment to high-density organ meats and local sourcing has become the ultimate competitive advantage in the Premier League.

The Norwegian athlete plays for Manchester City and the Norway national team. On April 19, he stole the show at the Manchester City vs. Arsenal game when he wrestled past Gabriel inside the box before scoring the point that would win the game 2-1.

Then, on April 22, Manchester City beat Burnley, rising to the top of the league for the first time in eight months. Haaland scored the only point in the first five minutes of the game.

Manchester City's back-to-back wins have made them the firm favorites to win the 25-26 Premier League title. The final round of matches is set for Sunday, May 24, 2026, with every game kicking off at the same time.

The 2026 FIFA World Cup will run from Jun 11, 2026, to July 19, 2026, where players like Haaland will swap their Manchester City kits for their home country jerseys.

So who is Haaland, and why is he getting so much attention? One of the reasons is his diet.

Haaland is ripped, as seen every time he takes off his jersey. As for how he maintains his physique, he isn’t running on chicken and rice.

The 25-year-old reportedly eats around 6,000 calories a day, nearly double what most people consume. The menu consists of cow hearts, livers, massive steaks, raw honey, sea bass, asparagus, egg fried rice, tomahawk steaks, and a lot of milk.

“You other people don’t eat this… but I care about taking care of my body,” he said in his documentary Haaland: The Big Decision. "I think eating quality food that's as local as possible is the most important thing. People say meat is bad, but... which one? The meat you buy at McDonald's? Or the local cow that eats grass right there? I eat the heart and liver," he continued.

And then there’s his so-called “magic potion”: raw milk. He pairs it with breakfasts like eggs on sourdough and even mixes it into coffee. “Coffee is a superfood in my eyes—if you do it right,” he said. “It needs a little bit of milk in.”

Then there is his recovery with red-light therapy, ice baths, saunas, daily physio, and sunlight first thing in the morning.

And after matches like that Arsenal game, where he left the pitch literally marked up from head to torso, it makes sense why recovery isn’t optional.
