Adapted by Jack Thorne, who was behind the incredibly successful "Adolescence," "Lord of the Flies" is an adaptation of the 1954 William Golding novel, following a group of stranded schoolboys and their descent into savagery as they try to create a sense of leadership with no adults to provide guidance.

If you can't get your fill of Jane Austen, "The Other Bennet Sister" is one of the best Regency era adaptations yet, taking the story of "Pride and Prejudice" but shifting the lens towards Mary, the novel's overlooked middle sister.

Starring Sally Field and Lewis Pullman, "Remarkably Bright Creatures" follows a grieving widow working in an aquarium who develops an unexpected bond with an octopus voiced by the great Alfred Molina. 

Amadeus (Starz)

"Amadeus" has some large shoes to fill. The series, inspired by the 1979 stage play and the beloved film starring Tom Hulce and F. Murray Abrams, features Will Sharpe as Mozart and Paul Bettany as the jealous Salieri, with the story tracking their rivalry.

Ex Machina (Netflix)

Written and directed by Alex Garland, "Ex Machina" follows a programmer who spends a week at the secluded estate of his genius CEO after winning a contest. Things grow strange when the programmer begins to work with Ava, an alluring AI who may have hidden motives.
