There’s a lot of stuff to stream nowadays. In hopes of helping you watch more good movies and TV, we compile some of the most exciting titles streaming across all platforms in our weekly column, What To Watch.
Widow's Bay (Apple TV+)
Matthew Rhys is back with a new show, this time in the horror genre. "Widow's Bay" is a Stephen King-inspired series following Rhys as the mayor of a town in New England filled with superstitious characters.
Man on Fire (Netflix)
Netflix has a new TV show. Starring Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as a Special Forces Mercenary dealing with PTSD, "Man on Fire" follows him fighting through deadly situations as he seeks revenge.
Battlestar Galactica (Paramount+)
"Battlestar Galactica" is now streaming in full on Paramount+. The TV show is a SyFy channel remake and is one of the most beloved science fiction stories in recent memory, following the war between humans and the androids known as Cylons.
Bring It On (Starz)
There are many franchises available to stream on this week's What to Watch. The "Bring It On" series is streaming in full on Starz. While no film rivals the highs of the original, starring Kirsten Dunst and Eliza Dushku in some of the most memorable work of their careers, the movies are a good watch for a weekend at home.
The Star Wars movies (Disney+)
The release of "The Mandalorian and Grogu" has inspired a rewatch in my house of the Star Wars movies, particularly the Skywalker saga, streaming in full on Disney+. It's a saga with many ups and downs, but one thing stays consistent: the world-building and the unrivaled sound design.
Wuthering Heights (HBO Max)
"Wuthering Heights" is finally streaming on HBO Max. Regardless of your taste and whether you love it or hate it, it's one of the must-watch movies of the year due to its pop culture impact and its stunning Charli XCX soundtrack.
The Devil Wears Prada (HBO Max)
"The Devil Wears Prada 2" is in theaters, making it the perfect opportunity to catch up with the original. The original film follows Andy Sachs, a serious young writer who gets a job at Runway magazine, working as the assistant of the fearsome Miranda Priestly. The film nails many things: the early aughts, the luxurious fashion world, New York, being great at your job, and more. It's timeless.
