Jason Statham comes face-to-face with his giant inflatable twin for MUTINY

Jason Statham is indulging in some fun promotion for his new film. "MUTINY," premiering in theaters on August 21, is celebrating its awaited release with giant inflatable scowling Jason Statham that's stopping in various major cities.

The real Statham posed alongside his inflatable giant in London, sporting a matching scowl by the River Thames. He wore a cream colored rain jacket, black pants, and his trademark sunglasses. In the background, his inflatable is floating in the river, holding on to a harpoon. 

The inflatable has been visiting numerous emblematic cities. The tour began in London, then New York, then Miami, and it's now in LA, preparing for the film's theatrical release. 

Statham teased the inflatable's tour earlier this month, in a video shared on his Instagram. Addressing the camera directly, Statham is recorded moments before the unveiling of the inflatable in London. "They said, 'How big do you want it?' I said, 'Surprise me. And boy did they do that," he says. "It's tiny!"

"MUTINY" is a revenge thriller starring Statham as Cole Reed, a bodyguard who witnesses his billionaire boss's murder and is framed for the crime. He goes on the run, boarding a cargo ship infested with mercenaries and uncovering an international conspiracy that he'll try to unveil while also trying to clear his name and avenge his boss. 

Statham serves as one of the film's producers, with Jean-François Richet directing. The script was written by J.P Davis and Lindsay Michel, and it stars Anabelle Wallis, Roland Moller, Adrian Lester, Jason Wong, Arnas Fedaravicius, and more.

Statham has had a lot of fun on social media as he promotes the film, film on his social media, sharing photos of the merch he's received from the "MUTINY" promotion team. "This is the Cole Reed action figure," he says, showing the toy and all of its accessories to the camera. "Can I just point out that no one wears trousers that tight?" he jokes. 

"The only redeeming quality about this look box of nonsense is the hook. Now that can do serious damage," he says, making it clear that the tool will be featured in the upcoming film.
