Del Toro presented the teaser at Netflix Tudum 2025 alongside Isaac and Goth, revealing that the film would premiere on the streamer this November.

Isaac stars as Dr. Victor Frankenstein, the protagonist of the story. He plays a brilliant scientist who brings a creature to life with disastrous results, played by Elordi. The teaser appears to go back and forth in time, exploring the creation of Frankenstein's monster, his research, and teasing the monster's introduction to the audience without providing a full glimpse of it.

"In seeking life, I created death," says Isaac in the trailer. You can check it out in full below.

More details about 'Frankenstein'

"Frankenstein" is a film that del Toro has been working on for over a decade, with him describing the project in Tudum as “the culmination of a journey that has occupied most of my life."

“Monsters have become my personal belief system. There are strands of Frankenstein through my films," he said, according to a Deadline report. He also wrote, produced, and directed the project.

In 2018, del Toro thanked Mary Shelley, the author of "Frankenstein," upon winning Best Director at the BAFTAs for his film "The Shape of Water."

“The most important figure from English legacy is, incredibly, for me, a teenager by the name of Mary Shelley, and she has remained a figure as important in my life as if she were family,” he said at the time. “And so many times when I want to give up, when I think about giving up, when people tell me that dreaming of the movies and the stories I dream are impossible, I think of her.”
