Kurt Cobain and Courtney Love's daughter, Frances Bean Cobain, has returned to the red carpet for the first time in eight years. She wore a grungy outfit that surely made her fashion-icon mom proud and would have made her late dad proud too.

Frances attended the premiere of "The Deputy," a TV show starring William H. Macy and Julia Fox.

She wore an outfit made up of various statement pieces, including a brown leather jacket, a vintage band T-shirt, black shorts, and white high boots. She completed the look with a white purse.

Frances took photos alongside Matt Sukkar, the director of a few episodes, who opted for a black suit and an orange button-up shirt with a matching tie.

Frances and Riley's relationship

A couple of years ago, Frances Cobain married Riley Hawk. The two are the children of a very cool cohort of '90s alternative culture. Frances is the daughter of rock icons Kurt Cobain and Courtney Love, who also fronted the band Hole, while Riley is the son of skateboarding legend Tony Hawk and his ex-wife Cindy Dunbar.

The pair began dating in 2021, going public with their relationship a year later on social media. They got married in October 2023, officiated by Frances' godfather and close friend of Cobain, Michael Stipe. He's also the frontman of the band R.E.M.

A year later, Frances and Riley welcomed their first kid together: Ronin Walker Cobain Hawk.

Last year, Tony Hawk opened up about becoming a grandparent. “Firstly, just seeing my own son be a parent has been really gratifying and makes you proud on a level you never imagined,” he told the TODAY Show. “But in terms of being a grandparent, taking care of a grandchild has been such a blast.”

He also addressed the difference between being a parent and a grandparent, making it clear that the latter is more fun. “We don’t freak out on the smallest setback or concern. We’ve been through it six times now and managed to raise decent humans,” he said.

Hawk added that this new era of parenting is “just more fun. It’s not something you freak out about. It’s something you embrace.”

Hawk has four kids from three marriages. His wife, Catherine Goodman, has two kids of her own.
