Manolo's love of cooking
While it a giant baklava as a cake is not a common sight, it makes sense for Manolo, who's a huge foodie and has launched different food endeavors and partnerships. It's a passion that he doesn't share with his mother.
"I learned how to cook out of necessity," he told PEOPLE. "She doesn't cook at all. She hates being in the kitchen."
Vergara revealed that Manolo's passion for cooking dates back to his childhood. "He always cooked, always watched Emeril and Food Network, and it was very cute," she said. "He used to make his own breakfast and lunch, he always made me dinners."
While their relationship has its unique way of functioning, Manolo shared that there are some stereotypes in which they both fall into.
"She does this whole annoying thing that Latino moms do where they send voice notes instead of just sending a text message where you can just see what the message is and just, like, act on it immediately," he said. "If I'm in a meeting I can't listen to this voice note. It's half an hour before I can. Just say [what you want] in [a] message, and I could have done it half an hour ago!"
