Aaron Rodgers' recent tirade may be bringing his famous exes together. Last night was the Emmy Awards, and Shailene Woodley and Olivia Munn became an unexpected ex-girlfriend duo.
According to US Weekly, Woodley, 34, and Munn, 46, were spotted deep in conversation during Monday night's ceremony, with Munn at one point holding Woodley's hand as Woodley shook her head while they talked.
Later in the night, Woodley reportedly walked over to Munn and her husband, John Mulaney, where she also chatted with Jason Segel and his fiancée, Kayla Radomski. Woodley even congratulated the couple on their upcoming wedding.
The moment might have been nothing more than two women catching up at a very long awards show. But considering they share one very famous and bitter-sounding ex, the timing is hard to ignore.
The oldest active NFL star had spent the previous week publicly revisiting his past relationships. The most explosive comments were centered around Woodley; Rodgers claimed that after he proposed, Woodley told him that before they got married, she wanted to sleep with another man.
“I dated Shailene. I proposed, and she said yes,” Rodgers said on the podcast. “Maybe she felt like she was forced to make a decision. She could have said no.”
He then claimed that only days later she told him, “You know, before we get married, I gotta go f*** this guy.” When paparazzi caught up with Woodley after it was released and asked her for comment, she handled it the best way possible - by laughing when his name got brought up and walking away.
They both know what it's like to date Aaron Rodgers
Munn's relationship with Rodgers came first. The actress and the Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback met in 2014 at the Academy of Country Music Awards and dated for three years before splitting in 2017.
As noted by Us, their relationship became tangled in speculation surrounding Rodgers' estrangement from his family, with Munn repeatedly being blamed for the rift.
She denied being responsible and actually said she had encouraged Rodgers to try to repair those relationships. “I just think it’s really important to try to mend things in a family, and I encourage that,” Munn said during a 2018 appearance on Andy Cohen Live.
She explained that Rodgers had already been estranged from his parents and one brother for months before they started dating, adding that his family's history in sports made the situation even more complicated.
Munn has since moved on in a very public way with Mulaney.
The couple married in 2024 and share two children.
Then came Shailene Woodley
Rodgers and Woodley were first linked in 2020 and quickly became one of the more surprising celebrity couples. By early 2021, Rodgers revealed that he was engaged, and Woodley later confirmed that she was his fiancée.
Their relationship, however, didn't make it to the altar. Us Weekly confirmed in 2022 that the pair had split. For years, neither seemed particularly interested in turning the breakup into a public back-and-forth. That changed dramatically this month.
Rodgers recently used an appearance on teammate Cam Heyward's Not Just Football podcast to give his version of what happened. Along with the sleeping with another man claim, Rodgers pushed back against what he described as a public narrative that he had devastated Woodley after ending their relationship.
“Her story is that I ruined her life and gave her crazy depression because I left her,” he said on the podcast.
He also had things to say about Danica Patrick, shutting down her version of the story. “The height of their fame is when they were with me,” he said, adding, "The height of their fame is when they were with me."
Rodgers has since moved on, marrying a mysterious woman only known as Brittani. The internet has an ongoing joke that she doesn't actually exist.
